Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval Weekly Objectives for Cycle 178

Good evening Commanders!

Last week was not too complicated; we sat things out and the only unusual thing was that we prepared the system Diegakul to stop Winters using it against us.

However, we do not want to take it ourselves - it's a bad system. So do not expand it.

Instead, just fortify as per the Trello list and vote Consolidation.

To find out more about the primary Aisling Duval communication hub, our community Slack (including how to join), read the FAQ:

Also, to keep an eye on our dynamic objectives list, which changes as the cycle progresses, please visit the webpage at https://trello.com/b/HBY3rRZR/aisling-duval

Fly safe, Commanders.

Yikes! Looks like "expansion" is up to 90% already (and it's only Friday morning at 1 AM).
Hope someone's paying attention.

I saw on Reddit where it said not to bother expanding into Diegakul, but I suppose there are a lot of Aisling Duval supporters who never read either there or here, so they never got the memo!

However, I have to ask - why is Diegakul a bad system? It says on the galaxy map that it's worth 60 CC, right? So, why would we not want it? Is there more to it than that...?

Just based on the information supplied to us in-game, I can well understand why a lot of players would think that expanding into it would be a good idea...

The galaxy map lies. It's that simply.

The Diegakul bubble covers the following systems (CC value in parenthesis; if it is already exploited the power's name follows it:

Unexploited systems (total of 32 CC):

Buan Zha (5)
Bajoji (8)
Diegakul (6)
Hehebeche (6)
Wutha Gigae (7)

Already exploited systems (130 CC):

Turona (8) Aisling Duval
Callici (8) Aisling Duval
Awang (5) Aisling Duval
SPOCS 615 (10) Arissa Lavigny-Duval
Kamaki (8) Aisling Duval
Damoch (4) Aisling Duval
Juipedi (8) Arissa Lavigny-Duval
Ekoimunggu (5) Aisling Duval
Haolin Ti (6) Aisling Duval
Nik (8) Aisling Duval
Sitakapa (10) Aisling Duval
Mac Og (8) Aisling Duval
Lu Pinda (6) Aisling Duval
Shanhauls (11) Aisling Duval
Peng (8) Aisling Duval
Ruwachis (9) Aisling Duval
Pisamazin (8) Aisling Duval

The way the galaxy map lies is interesting though. It will show the potential radius income of a system, assuming that all the income in the bubble is available. It is massively flawed, and has been reported more times than I care to think about.

The 130 CC exploited systems is why it was a valuable target for Winters - as a weaponized expansion it is less painful (about -60 CC) than it is to their enemies (-130 CC).

Amazing, I had no idea... thank you for that in-depth explanation!

If Winters had taken the system, all of those systems we are currently Exploiting would have become Contested, and we would have lost all that Command Capital... it's actually quite cool that Powerplay has tactical elements like this, but I wish it was communicated to us a little better! I thought it was obtuse before, but now I find that it's outright misleading...

Well done to you for getting to grips with it on our behalf!

I haven't logged in today but was wondering how the "undermining" was going. It looked like it was up pretty high last night.
