∞ probes?

It's already been dropped. FD made a design decision. It's over. Pick a new hill to die on.

Yes they did however they didn't in part due to the feedback they received. This is ok of course but does highlight an amusing hypocrisy from some who are saying now wait until beta to comment, but it was fine to comment when probes were finite (I didn't comment back then because I was essentially happy with finite but assumed it would be balanced in beta).
I agree infinite is probably here to stay now however there may be nuance which can be added to it.

But even if not so what? The title of the thread is clear why can't people talk about it? If you don't want to get involved talking about the topic then move on.
Talking about the probes is good, talking about the players talking about the probes is not.

We made 100! :-D

And this... :)

The only reason why you are saying this because you know if Frontier get a few good ideas they will add it. I know this because unlike other Lame games. Frontier listen to the users and if they have a good idea they will add it. That is why you are scared of this idea.

Personally I just want a reason to scoop gas giants.

Is that how this forum works now?

Once something's in the game, further discussion or criticism is verboten?

Gonna get real quiet, real quick.

Its not verboten it just seems to be a new offlinegate or ship transfers in larval form. Not a very big deal already decided but causing disproportionate issues for some.

Like you perhaps?

You're clearly not interested in the discussion because you never actually contribute to it, but you're still in here dismissing everything you can.

10% support finite probes, how's that for a valuable contribution.

Well if you're going off the poll it's incorrect for a start, because the poll doesn't even mention finite probes.

If you mean craftable there was a combined option but pushes that figure to about 80% or something, but nevermind eh. [rolleyes]

Its the only data we have to work from backed up by FDEV's decision plus the prevailing opinion of this thread (which was blatantly started sarcastically).

Hardly rubbish.

My interpretation is that finite probes seem to be a very unpopular idea and thankfully FDEV chose not to go with it.

Well look, maybe you should go back and read what the 3 poll options actually were, because finite wasn't even on there.

I mean if you can't even understand what the options were how on Earth are you going to be able to interpret the outcome.

C'mon finite probers, get back to work - we need 200 pages!

Oh no! you won't rope me back into this discussion like that... oh. Darnit!

Finite probes (with good options to gather required mats) FTW! Lol.

But (semi) seriously, nobody is arguing to add infinite grind. Just a reason to occasionally have to stop off to gather some resources while out on extended exploration trips. I would bet that most people won't even *use* the probes most of the time; they'll only be used by completionists, people searching for something specific, or on "special" planets (whatever "special" means to the particular Explorer).

Finite wasn't on there? Do you have reading comprehension problems?

"Craftable probes only" obviously meant finite probes. Sure it was a clumsy way of saying "finite probes" but it clearly and objectively means the same - because one would need materials to craft or synthesize probes.

10% in favor of finite probes only, its not a complicated result

So looking at that poll stigbob would you be happy with the middle option. Infinite probes as shown in the video with options to craft improved ones with say double coverage ... That way those who refuse to craft are covered.. net result may be same scanning rate per HR but also will always be able to scan systems even if you run out.
Because to me what that poll is saying is that is what the majority would like.
