Solo players will love this

A bit clickbitey subject line, but it was just mentioned passing by FD, but I can't overstate how much this means...

Now in 3.3 beta there's not only more installations (a *lot* more), but they are massive, they have role, they have specific NPC ships around them for that role, and it just feels way, way more alive than before. If this is way forward, this is right way forward. I have been always huge proponent of extending PvE universe of ED and this is what exactly what I wanted.

just to give hint - before update my system had none installations in space. Now there are four, one mega ship, and all of them are fun and interesting. And additional landbased settlements too.

I am now sitting at the front of HUGE - at least Coriolis size, if not more - security installation. It has five fighter bays, it has convinct transport ships around it, it has total security and scans around it. I mean, this is it. Please of this more.

But is there anything you can actually *do* there, or just look at how pretty it is?

You can scan it and do illegal stuff like scan and / or hack doors or attack.

Also according to FD they will become points of battle scenarios when there will be conflict between hosting faction and someone wanting to own it.

And gameplay wise, is there a reason to go there? Do they drop G5 mats or a good amount of credits/h (25m+)? Any BGS or PP influence? Rare cargo of atleast 100 tonnes? Other things?

I found a research ship being attacked last night and had the option to join the attack or help defend the station. I helped defend. Actuwlly quite good. Im more excited about that than any other new feature.

Also came across an agricultural station with scanable cargo bays. Now i want to be a pirate.

They'll have missions and purpose in upcoming updates.

You can go there and scan things do illegal stuff and interact as they are at the moment.

This is great, I must say, but what does it have to do with Solo? I hope they have tunnels going through them that we can fly through like some CQC Assets.

Rare cargo of at least 100 tonnes, 25mill + rewards lol, not asking for much now are you. Yes there are things to do, and missions tied to them, that is the whole point of these extra installations.

Found one and accepted the Defend Option. By time I have figured out the Keybind to switch into Combat Mode, our side had won.

thanks for the clarification
it's indeed a step in the right direction, watching the streams yesterday gave me a good feling about the future

That the big thing right ? Eye candy is cool, but actual candy is better :)

Seriously, if some of this installations where to be sources of reliable PvE piracy targets, it could be lovely.

Data piracy with recon limpets can get you a bunch of G5 data.

Some of them have a fair amount of rares in their cargo holds ... but probably not 100 tonnes each.
