PvP Is nonconsensual PvP really that much of a problem?

which may not be a game you like.

My game isn't your game.

It can't really be phrased better than this.

And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse’s arms.
Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

And at the end of the day - everyone I can't be bothered with really is sans everything :D

And if you want that to change, lets forget the space pixels and do some real PVP ;)

You didn't really understand a single point of that post.

Probably not. Perhaps you were far too cryptic and intellectual for a simple pretend space pilot like myself. If you would care to explain, then maybe I could understand. However if you wish to remain in your ivory tower, I understand.

You never read Shakespeare?

That's not a thing Bob. How do you deal with non-consensual PvP? Those times when you have a mission to complete & you need to reach a station say.

That's odd, you seem to suggest they exist right here:

That looks pretty similar to mine, although I have A-rated shields not Bi-weave (no powerplay toys for me coz I don't cynically exploit the system :)).

I build my ships strong, hiwake, use the planets to my advantage and everything else the game gives me.
Even my 760t trade Cutter has ~2500 hull and 3000 shields.
It also carries a load of weapons and boosts over 500m/s.

Well, I've built my T9 for greatest jump range. I was thinking of using it as exploration ship to be honest, and being able to jump 30ly with 700t of cargo isn't bad either. I pay the price now :)

So you expect to survive in such paper thin build? C'mon, I have my own paper thin AspX but when I use it I'm sure to be in a PG or solo or at the very least not go to PvP hotspots (including CGs). Use the ship for the right job and expect tradeoffs when building your ship.

Or we could find a system that works for both sides, where PVE and PVP people play alongside happily because there is no conflict in interest anymore.
GTA Online can do it, Fallout 76 can do it, WoW can do it, Final Fantasy 14 can do it, Elder Scrolls Online can do it. But hey, what do they know.

So can ED, go to Mobius.

No, Bob! All traders are automatically helpless against all griefers! That's why we need a PvE-only damage toggle switch! Stop advocating ganker concepts like proper loadout and evasive skills!

I'm sorry, that was quite uncouth of me wasn't it?!

I AM using legacy uber cheater powerplay modules as well!

Muahahahahaha!

I just started a new Cmdr about a week ago.
It's not a problem.
I immediately stole some stuff and pledged to the purple one, so I've got a target on my harmless back too!

Doesn't care :D

You just mis-read my post about T-9 shields Bob. There are three realistic choices for shield strategy, bi-weave, regular A-rated & prismatic. I don't use bi-weave on my T-9 for the reasons stated, and don't have access to prismatics because I'm not a cynical exploiter doing the PP rounds to get all the gear, but I do prioritise strength over regen. If I were a cynical exploiter (or a genuine powerplayer) and had access to prismatics they would be my choice, but I don't so I use A-rated instead.

Your choice would be to take the safer option & just use a Cutter, and with that much shield & armour I can imagine you would feel pretty safe :) I don't remember the armour value on my Cutter (it has reactive hull armour & an MRP) but it has about 2000 hitpoint shields(bi-weave C8).

ime 2000 has proved plenty enough on my trade cutter, it's armed for NPCs but I wouldn't open fire on a player with it, I'd be aiming to escape. Do you think 2000 would be enough for you, or is the extra useful in situations you might come across and the way you deal with them?

I don't publish my builds (or even record them) but I'm not being vague to be cagey, I just don't recall off the top of my head. How much shield do you think would be good enough for a Cutter?
