Congratulations to all those trigger happy Cmdr's that successfully managed to KILL WILL multiple times on the FDev livestream last night. You've done more good for the keep solo/private brigade than those campaigning to keep it could ever wish to accomplish. Was there the whole event, not killed, nice to see so many others, though all the networking issues will probably see me head back to the PG - that is the main issue with Open.

Indeed has noone taught them the now lore ingrained high wake maneuver, yeah bit hard when your flying a stranded whale facing a rock face and your ship goes pop in 3 sec’s.

I like how the OP correlates what happened to Will with ganking/griefing, when there is absolutely no relationship.
I don't gank, I don't grief, I've actually reiterated my position once this morning on this in another thread, and what it comes down to, is empathy. I don't want to ruin someone else's fun.
Does that preclude me from blowing up Will on a FD official live stream? Of course not! Blowing up Will on a livestream is 'great for a laugh'. It doesn't hurt anyone, so it's all good honest gameplay if you ask me. If I had not been too busy WINNING A WAR ON BEHALF OF THE FEDERATION FOR THE GLORY OF HUDSON(!) I might have gone over there and blown him up a couple of times myself. I might even have commed 'git gud hehe', and my morals would have still remained intact.
Games are about fun. If it's fun it's all good. If it ruins someone's day, it ain't. Simples.

What magical abilities do you have to know if getting blown up is fun for the one being blown up? Your moralstandards drop the moment you haven't asked, "Would you mind being blown up" anwered by "no" as at this is the very point you put them on the gambling table yb just implying if the others day might have been ruined by it or not.
Actually, not killing him would give everyone the false idea that Open is a safe place for everyone when it is not. I think it happened what was supposed to happen, nothing more. People preferring PG or Solo can find an excuse anywhere if they are really up to.
Did you quote the wrong post? What you've said has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. I specifically said 'blowing up will on a live stream', that is something not only do I 'know' the effects of, I can actually WATCH THEM LIVE!! I don't attack random commanders, you know this.
Given Will probably has as many dev magic credits as he wants, I'd say that's pretty fair. No real consequence to him, a bit of a challenge to the stream sniper, entertaining viewing! It was cool to Ed quietly getting on with it, probably more representative of the actual game where you can concentrate on evasion / mining - rather than your squad management and position broadcast at that particular moment.
Keep getting gudder Will. The game not only 'looks' incredible but when I dropped in last night the 'game' looks incredible too. Nice one.
There was neither ganking nor griefing going on in this stream. Will openly advertised his position in the game and invited players to come and interact with him and one another. Of course some players would take this chance to have a fight, it's just a shame more players didn't also take the chance to protect him and instead took to complaining on the forums.
Killing someone in open who has magic dev powers is even less griefing than killing someone in open :x
Would have been hilarious though if Will had uber l33t shields and reverb ATR lazors to gank the ganker
