FDEV you saved me a bunch of money!

Only 800MJ shields and Lightweight Alloys??? Lol... and those resistance mods aren't going to do much.

Not sure what to say here but yeah, way too fast access to Anaconda there. Also if you flip tables because you lost once to NPCs....yeah, still don't know what to say to you. This is a game where you actually die - well, your ship does - if you go down. And you lose stuff.

So maybe positive sign is that you figured out that ED is not game for you before buying HOTAS and VR? Because that's genuinely good thing. I really would hate you investing and then figuring out you can't play/don't want to play ED.

Hey I am still confused with the two mining lasers - why??? lol

Mining lasers with a KWS and Wake Scanner nonetheless...

I'm reminded of this oldie but goody...

I'm also going to guess "No pips in SYS" was also in play.

Thank you FD for saving me a bunch of money. I was going to abandon Beta now until the live release but I conjured up another endeavor to do before Beta is over. I logged back in to beta then sold off a few of my ships so I could afford a Type-10 and equip it sufficiently for travel and fun. (sold the Mamba too)

I would never have done this in my RL account but hey, its Beta. I flew a Type-9 for about 18 months as my primary ship way back when rare's runs were just getting started and trading was a good way to make credits. I loved that Type-9 but I had to move on so I sold it. (I wish I could transfer that Type-9 paint package I bought back then to the 10 but oh well)

Some modules have probably arrived by now so I'm off to see if I can still get it through the slot.

No, its a Noobaconda.

We are getting quite a few "I got wasted and shouldn't have, so this game sucks" posts lately. Regrettably, it is because of the incessant urge to reach the Big 3 ships at all costs without experiencing the game on the way up. The game, in the end, has a way of punishing you if you don't learn what it teaches you.

99% down to Frontier's lack of forethought in terms of progression; specifically, earnings potential & costs of the ships/modules!

Maybe they need to implement a licensing system for ships and ship classes.

Have to complete a series of missions with a certain rating in order to be qualified to pilot the new ship.

I'm perfectly willing to allow people to stick their face into a fire if they want. Last thing I feel like having is licencing requirements tho; we have enough pedantic game mechanics already.

Just wanted to say thank you FDEV, you saved me a bunch of money!..... ......Bye o/

Well, that's lovely, and I wish you well. Alas for many of us ED has been a happy outlet for our wallets.

I've got a new HOTAS, headphones, EdTracker and other ancillary bits. And I don't regret spending a single penny of it, not even on the paintjobs, bobbleheads and LEP.

Ymmv of course, and if it's not for you (much like Cities Skylines isn't for me) then it's time to let go and find fresh pastures, and I wish you well.

Well what a salty thread, the OP did rather set the tome with his intial post.

Only one thing to add. Have a button bond for next hostile or wighest threat. When being interdicted .... press it. This will give you your attacker's details as if you had scanned it. Use the ship type and rank, and situational context (such as security level, rep with the controlling faction, population, number of baddies chasing you, criminal status in system, time left on mission etc) to decide if submitting or fighting the interdiction is the best course of action.

I love it when ships chasing me interdict me in a high population, high security controlled by a faction I am allied with, guarentees me the extra credits for the mission.
The game is not hard, but it is very easy to make sub-optimal decsions.

Cheers
Simon
