I have elite purchased thru the frontier website but want another commander for exploration only. Has anyone bought elite through H.B.? They are asking for my steam account to be linked so I assume the game will be played through the steam interface but I'm not sure. And If i want to buy skins and stuff do I need to also create another Frontier account or can I buy skins using my existing Frontier account? or can i buy skins thru the Steam interface?

HumbleBundle provide Steam keys, so you'll need a Steam account not tied to your existing Frontier account. Once said key is attached to that Steam account, you'll need to create a new Frontier account (different email to your existing Frontier account) to login and play.

if it's another copy you will have to create another account I think. I have elite from Steam and it walked me through account creation process. As for skins, they are linked to frontier account so you can buy them directly from fdev. IDK about fancy shmancy in game purchases, but I am pretty sure they cut steam off.

Yes OP, this is another completely separate account. It will do everything your current account does including play inside and outside of Steam. Do not try to link it to you existing account.
