National flags and possibly football/sport team colors as ship paintjobs and at $1 per ship.

I like the flag paintjobs on the ships but it is only available on the Cobra and not on any of the mid to large ships.

Surely you could sell some paintjobs for the rest of the ships at around $1 per ship and be profitable.

I just wanted to be able to see where some of the other CMDRs are from visually represented.

Not that I am a nationalist or a flag waver, specially not in 3303. Flags would be like a relic of the past and some sort of novelty.

Just like the idea of flag or team colors for curiosity and aesthetics.

I agree.
Even player groups should be banned if they have a country name.

To OP, you surely mean clubs and flags from a far away system/world right...as almost nobdy in the galaxy would remember the earth's old clubs and even country's. I could go for that, let us come up with flags from our home -or other- system/ world/starport ect.
BTW flags would still be a thing, why would that not exist?

Welsh flag paint would be awesome on many ships!

The Swiss Flag also makes the perfect rescue ship paintjob too.

I was more surprised by the absurdity of a government charging license fees for use of their flag in a computer game.

As for sport teams, Fdev could add big fat color stripes or a giant generic logo

eg: the CMDR's rank symbol, powers logos, paid logo

to all ships, then a CMDR can choose which colors those stripes or logo are to be and then add another nameplate.

That could be a workaround against royalties, since it is a player's choice what they want to use and there is no copyrights on what color combinations are allowed.

If there is litigation, then that is insane.

Sure its not as good as an official sports team's pennants but its not as if the clubs are gonna have ready made graphics for ED.

I think you are seriously undervaluing the time of the modelers with this proposal. Frontier is already the lowest cost micro-transaction on the market, which I think shows they are the only gaming company that really understands the economic principle.

That said, you are asking for a double niche in that it is first specific nationalities, then each ship has be be skinned individually. To me, setting a price point of 1.00 (in whatever currency) more or less indicates that don't appreciate the effort that you are requesting.
