And yes, when I read about the sound upgrades, I decided to go for it a bit yesterday. So the one hour I managed to get for the game, I grabbed my Krait Phantom, put a vehicle hangar into it and went to the next planet.

First of course I had to fiddle a lot with the old volume settings. They were reset, it'll take me a little to really have them again where I want them. But that's a low price for the new options. When in the SRV, my first reaction again was that the wave scanner, while being at the new maximum, is still too silent.

But then I started to move to the signal and had to realize at which distance to the object I was when I heard the faint signal. Once I got a bit closer, the signal was much louder, more crisp and clear. A huge improvement to before. I am even able to do surface prospecting on my normal speakers now and don't have to use my headphones any more for that. That's an awesome upgrade!
