It will be well before Xmas; mid-December probably isn't ideal if you want the thing well & truly bedded down without the prospect of possibly having your Xmas break interrupted by fixing stuff.

Wasn't there talk during the 3.0 beta of Frontier needing time after a build is declared final to get it certified by Microsoft and Sony for release to consoles?

So even if a build is finalised before the beta is declared to be over, that's still a further delay, pushing it into December.

On the other hand I would think Frontier would move heaven and earth to avoid being stuck with a major issue after release over the Christmas hols, so I'm thinking the release will be no later than sometime in the second week of December.

It is almost certainly not that.

I've programmed all the known information into my guess-o-matic 3000 and it say it will be released on the 14 of December. Of course all of the known information equals diddly-squat so the variables are massive...

I've just calibrated my frontal cortex and the resulting release date estimate is... 6th Dec.
