It's "lame" to imagine that there's one special direction in space which you mustn't use because your spaceship happens to have a pointy end. If you need to use reverse trust to bring your weapon on target, do so.

yes. should have avoided saying 'lame'. the lameness though is that it relies on a senseless suicidal reaction of the npc. i realize npc mostly are in fact suicidal, but just chasing me in a straight line while getting shot in the face has to be the oddest part of their repertoire. [haha]
 
You can shield tank a Cyclops Swarm in an FDL but its not good practice for taking on bigger ships...32 Thargon swarm should be easy enough to handle with a single Flak cannonIf you don't like reversing just "joust" it - equally as effective

Ok, I see what you mean. Maybe thargons aren't actually sentient? But if they walk into a simple trap, all the more reason to use it against them. Once you start limiting your options so that things aren't too easy, where does it end; size 1 pulse lasers? :)
