Not to sound ungrateful, but no love for LEP?

All this free non-free semantic arguments, what is the actual point you are trying to make?

Well from my side... the point is that Ed and Adam and Will should give it a rest with the whole "it's free" speech on live stream.

Yes, we are aware that FDEV is not charging anything extra for Beyond. Thank you for that. But the way they are saying it / phrasing it, is like they're doing their customers such a grand favor by providing a series of updates which should have been features included at launch to begin with.

If they wouldn't have mucked about for years with CQC, RNGineers and multipew we probably wouldn't have had this conversation to begin with.

So, see my Espresso example above. That's not a free Espresso either?

Know what, I even say thank you when I pay for something. It's called good manners.

Yea i know. You are the guy with manners and i am the bad guy with no manners. Enjoy your free content from the store.

No, because if you had not paid you would not get extra.

I'm not saying that not having to pay more for the new stuff isn't nice of FD. but I do not agree that it's free, as such.

But, it's just how one interprets these things, I suppose. Either way, it's not that important.

What about free shipping? When I buy something and don't need to pay for shipping it isn't free either? Why is it called free shipping?

It's both actually, but either way, if Beyond is truly free then why do I need to have a credit card to use it prior to any related purchases?

I never said Beyond is free. I said Beyond is free for those who already had Horizons. Anybody wanting to access the parts of Beyond locked behind the Horizons paywall will obviously need Horizons, and if they don't already have that they will need to pay.

But if you bought Horizons before Beyond was announced, what you paid for is what was advertised at the time of purchase. It makes no sense to claim that you paid for Beyond, regardless of what you are trying to mean by "paid for Beyond".
If you mean you financed Beyond, you didn't. You aren't an investor of Frontier, you are a customer: you wanted a product Frontier was selling, and you willingly gave Frontier some money in exchange for just that. From that point the money belongs entirely to Frontier, and you can't claim ownership or responsibility or any other relationship with whatever they want to do with that money. Frontier are the ones who financed Beyond, along with their investors, with their money.
If by paid for Beyond you mean the money you gave Frontier in exchange for Horizons entitles you to Beyond: it doesn't. As I said above, the money you gave them entitles you to exactly what was advertised, and at the time that didn't include Beyond. Frontier might do the nice thing (or the convenient thing or simply good PR) and retroactively give you access to Beyond, but since they can't also retroactively change the amount of money they asked you to pay, then it is mathematically inevitable that Beyond cost you nothng.

Yes they did, they come with the current update provided, if I didn't purchase the future updates, I'd be paying for them but alas, that's not the case.
It's pointless to keep the discussion going, although I still need to haul 20t of Fujin Tea,

Until you show me an example of somebody benefitting from the updates without paying for the base game you're talking baloney.

On another note, I already did that Fujin Tea grind ;)

I don't need to because 'benefitting from the updates without paying for the base game' is not part of the definition of the word 'free'. And that Fujin Tea drives me crazy.

All LEP holders should get a voucher for something - skin / weapon colours / whatever, a few times each year. They are the base that should get most stuff and pay not much for it.

Yes it is, you cannot tell somebody that the updates are free simply because you don't need to purchase them separately.
