...Playing games with the FPS counter on.
It's lovely seeing that nice big 60fps.
Sue me.

The spinning ship screen is a good one
Next stage - unlock itUnleash the beast.
Little pointless given my monitor is only 60Hz.
Even if speed limit is 60, it's nice to rev up the engine sometimes. Aren't you interested how many frames it can draw when not limited?

Well I was running with the cap increased to 120. Granted I haven't turned the cap off altogether.
But I was hitting 85+ @ultra on planet surface, and 120 in space.![]()
And well, change the screen soon(™).
See you a difference of fluidity even with your screen at 60 Hz ?
That's because even with 60Hz refresh rate pushing more frames makes a difference. You won't see more than 60, of course. However, you will have more "fresh" and recent frame to show each time. If that makes sense. Reducing perceived latency, and improving frame time. Frame time aka time between frames matters alot. This is why 24fps movie looks smooth, and 24fps game is super janky. Because movies don't have to draw frames in real time. Digital, or analog - frames are prearranged with perfect intervals. Even most powerful GPUs will introduce slight discrepancies and deviations from perfect frame time. Our eyes are quite sensitive to this. Anyway, I'm rambling quite a bit![]()
