Not to sound ungrateful, but no love for LEP?

They still have a pulse but look unhappy.

hey i have an LEP and am generally happy.

Here is the thing.... IF FD called time on ED tomorrow, I would be sad............. and i would complain.

however the issue would NOT be mostly because i had not had value out of my LEP (though i admit it would be a small issue) but it would be because the stuff that was detailed back in the day when i backed would no longer be coming.

Personally, when i look for information about the LEP, it isnt really my LEP i am interested in, but more that i am interested in what the premium content in the game will be....

So my question is to the LEP holders who are unhappy.

in general, is your complaint really that you feel FD are ripping you off by not giving you value, or is it just the avenue you are using to vent frustration that the premium DLC is not coming at a pace that was intimated to back in the day?

I am not convinced by Ed´s statement but I see that they try to avoid raising expectations too high, which is a good sign.

Isn't it obvious?

(1) Because it's a company that repeatedly makes assurances they don't deliver on.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...love-for-LEP?p=7209585&viewfull=1#post7209585

And ...

(2) There are people who bought in early, haven't been following closely, who would like an update.

Aside from adapting to customer demands and development practicalities they've stuck pretty much to what they always said, if you take into account the provisos about plans changing and financial viability being deciding factors then they've stuck to it to the letter.

Not sure if I have a specific complaint, but if there was right up there would be the way Frontier have a tendency to take money, then ignore what they've committed to. I understand delays will happen but Frontier absolutely have it in their power to smooth things over, but instead the approach they take is to ignore it.

At the end of the day it is what it is, I work in software dev, I understand. But what I don't like is how they deprioritize or give no subsequent thought to stuff where they've taken money in advance, the principle of that is simply just wrong.

In all honesty I've written the money off, I am not *that* bothered by all this, it's past.

But I do get flash points, for example when Frontier boast about free updates, with no thought to people who gave money in advance for updates, or when these threads pop up.

And on these threads, again I'm not massively bothered I can let them pass, but the mechanism goes like this :

  • Thread starts asking for update
  • White Knights pop in to say how people are bad for asking, entitled, whatever..
This then gets mine and other's backs up, because there is a actual issue here, and that point it kicks off.

There's a real irony in that the defenders who try so hard to defend Frontier at all costs contribute so heavily to the escalation, the more it's argued backers are at fault the more anger is directed at Frontier who ultimately are the real cause of these issues, and by proxy the threads.

On the above taking money principle, it's similar to the Cobra Mk IV for me, in this very thread you'll see some people ridiculing people who don't want the Mk 4 available to all as bad people. For me I'm fine everyone can have the Mk 4, but I will absolutely defend anyone who wants to keep it exclusive (without ridicule) because that was the deal when money was handed over.

You take the money, you do right by people, you don't undermine the deal and pretend it's ok because you got yours, it's that simple.

You need to give examples here.

It really doesn't seem that way.

You can't seem to pin that issue down though its all very vague.

They deserve ridicule let everyone experience the MKIV in all its lackluster glory.

I'm not seeing any undermining of the deal.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to jump in here and address a few points. First of all, thanks for you remaining considered and reasonable with your feedback, we're able to pass this information and sentiment on very quickly.

The Lifetime Expansion Pass holders are still set to receive something this year. Currently we don't have any more to say on that topic right now, but keep an eye on the usual channels as we'll have more for you very soon.

With regards to what's coming next, we aren't ready to talk about it in any detail, and we're still hard at work on Beyond - Chapter Four, but as previously mentioned here by Zac, "A while ago, our development went from pre-production into full production on our next major milestone of Elite development." We'll let you know when we're ready to start talking about further details, and to echo what's said above, you'll be able to find more information on our social channels and here on this forum, but please continue to be patient while we work hard on releasing Chapter Four.

Your continued support is really important to us, and we're extremely grateful for the time you've been on this journey with us (can you believe it's been more than four years!) It's really cool to see the same names time and time again in the forums, on the livestreams and engaging with us on social media... it makes doing our jobs an absolute pleasure!

Cheers!

Ed

As there has been an official response and reiteration of earlier dev posts as well as the thread seems to be heading down the they said I said route it will be closed.

Thanks all.
