Ship Damage Models

Hi,

Do we have any news on ship damage models? As we know the Anaconda has a damaged external. But others don't? Even bigger ships like the cutter, beluga etc?

Anyone know what the latest is on this?

shame they only did it for anaconda, and in old beta version there is cool stuff. I have see an anaconda, with ta smashed in side.
 
during kickstarter the damage modelling was one of the promises but it turned out to be work and they wanted to drop it. As the Conda's damage model was used to get kickstarter backers they had to implement it for that ship so they did and called it a day.

Of course. The precious Anaconda can never be touched or nerfed in any way and gets the special treatment over other ships. Frontier has a ridiculous obsession with making that ship the "god ship" despite it supposedly goes against their "philosophy"
 
It's likely because it's a lot of work for little reward.
Would it be cool? absolutely!
But they can likely get a better bang for their development buck by spending those resources elsewhere.
 
As a compromise, they could sell damaged ship models in the store.

Yes, this. Money talks. Damage models for $3? Yeah.
Fly into the star port with your left engine trailing smoke behind it.
Post in open chat "Yeah, but you should see the OTHER guy."

Its the small attention to detail that rlly makes a game.

Yeah, it would take a lot of work, as you need to make several versions of damaged for every single ship, and then you have to be able to make it work for all the paint packs and other cosmetics.

And why bother with that, when you can just make more cosmetics, which sell for money. No one is paying to get damage models. (you know, except all the people that did already, during kickstarter, when they said give us money and we will make these ships, and add damage models, but they have those peoples money already. And it was just "The plan at the time")
