DK2 has made me a better pilot!

Sorry it's a bit of a ramble .......

I got an early DK2, one of the first few that were released. At the time I was upset to find it made me really feel ill (almost vomited several times). I couldn't tolerate it at all, so I boxed it and played with my normal monitor.

It was a bit of a hassle but I tried it every couple of days and now I am glad to say I can fly for over an hour (in fact I could play all day) with really no ill effect.

For those who haven't tried it, all I can say it is completely amazing. The sense of size and immersion is nothing experienced before. Also I am lucky to have a warthog Hotas, saitek pedals and a subpac. I feel like I am actually in space :)

I saw a video a few weeks back on one of the newsletters. It included a pilot flying in circles around the entrance of station. At the time I thought that guy/girl has skills. Never would I have thought I could do that, but I was so wrong. With the normal monitor setup I can't, but with the DK2 it is a piece of cake .

I had a bit of a gaming moment last night when I spent literally and hour flying a close as I could to one of the stations. Doing circles around the entrance, flying in and out of the towers and buildings that line the surface. It just felt so natural, I felt connected to the ship. Much more so than without the DK2.

It's also totally amazing in combat, and definitely gives you an edge. I just wish it had a sharper image so it could resolve things at distance.

That's nothing. My DK2 turned me into the lawnmower man, and made me one with the net! I now have the awesome power to make all phones of the world ring once at the exact same time!

But kidding aside, I'm glad you have fun. Unfortunately I did not get better. Facebook assimilated my brain but I have yet to notice any additional superpowers :)
