Dinosaurs STAMPEDE!

Your Feature Request / Idea
Since hadrosaurs, sauropods, the ornithomimids and the pachycephalosaurs cannot fight the dinosaurs it would seem fitting that they can trample or cause a stampede that can kill the carnivorous and if they aren't careful the herbivores as well. This was a feature in JPOG. I feel that Frontier should look back more on JPOG and take some more ideas from that game.

This would make a lot of sense for a defensive mechanism for the defenseless herbivores like the hadrosaurs. For example when a raptor pack jumps on the back of a hadrasaur it can run and shake them off or trample them.

It would be interesting if stampedes triggered a "Dinosaur Threat" warning, as they can break down fences if not herded away.

I agree with this. Already suggested it, in fact: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...reat-post-of-Dinosaur-Artificial-Intelligence

And about the OP's idea, I can't see a stampede as a mechanism of defense: no herbivore in their right mind would willingly run into the predator that constitutes the threat, but away from him.

What stampedes can do, however, is pose great danger to fences, vehicles (Gyrospheres included), people and even trees. But they should always ran away from the perceived threat.

Also, herbivores should be able to outrun carnivores: no carnivore that I know of can keep a high speed during a long period of time, but herbivores do, specially while trying to merge into a protecting herd/flock, so hunting shouldn't always be successful.

What could be a danger to the predator, in fact, are terrain accidents: sudden steeps, soft ground, rocks and other obstacles that could throw them out of balance while running so focused on their prey. A stumbling or a fall could ruin the whole hunt for them and even cause them injury, or even death.

Wow. This is a good idea and suggestion.

Would definitely be a great addition and allow defenseless dinosaurs like hadrosaurs a chance too defend themselves. 5 stars.
