News Beyond - Chapter Four - Release Date Announcement

Great. What little time I spent in the beta showed me that I really don't like the new system scanner. Probably because it was so intuitive that I couldn't figure out how to use it properly, and I've grown tired of having to research every little function of this game on the internet.

And unfortunately, everyone gets forced to upgrade their game, regardless if they want to or not, so I guess I'll just have to tinker with the darn thing as see if I can figure the thing out. Or not.

It doesn't look like I'll be headed out into the black any time soon though. :(

Did you not get the instructions pop up on first (actually it was first time on every login for me) use?

I watched the new release-trailer and then, an hour later, realised I still didn't know the release date.

I really need to work on my attention-span. [sad]

No you won't :)

And you'll have all the new tools as basically the discovery scanner and the detailed surface scanners are "replaced". Even far from any station you'll be able to play with the new toys :)

The DS is replaced (now built in), but I thought you still needed to fit a DSS (which now shoots probes)? Can a beta tester clarify please?

My client even sometimes forgot that I already got the instructions multiple times. Which can be quite nasty while your fuel scoop is loading, as there's no exit button for these instructions (you have to click them all through). Am I the only one to whom this happened?
Nope, no idea why it happened. I did wonder if it only happened once after each beta patch dropped? Not sure.

*Subject to personal preference.

As can be said abouf pretty much anything.....in pretty much any game :p. I do hope they took on some of the feedback, though, re: Max Travel Speed whilst in FSS mode, amount of FSS info previewed after the Honk & leaving the tuner where the Commander last left it.

Same here:-

Looking forward to it going live. I have no wish to actually play the current live version right now. Not that I can as my PC is in pieces as I try to find out what is causing the constant blue screens of death.

Check the battery inside the case. That ended uo being my issue.

Can't tell you how excited I am. I haven't enjoyed playing Elite: Dangerous, as much as I did during the 3.3 Beta, since around the time 2.2 dropped.

I, too, hope that my feedback on Exploration & Mining were helpful!

I bet FD had a variable release date and moved it up, due to the positive progress X4 Foundations is making at launch. If it had been horribly buggy, FD wouldn't feel pressure to get their new release out and stem any crossover of user base to X4.

Given X4 has issues but not so horrible that it is at mixed reviews stage and at mostly positive, FD knows they need to get their new car out onto the show room.

Not at stage where I'm saying leaving or any nonsense like that, but FD has burned a lot of good will over the years and this update is basically the make or break (for me). Good enough, I'll stay with the good ship Elite, if not then jump ship for what seems really good case of options for space genre players in 2019, including X4.

Gutted!

I'm halfway to Beagle Point as I wanted to bag a few planets out there then hot foot it back to Colonia to register the scans. I'm away all of this weekend so that idea's now dead in the water as there's no way I can complete the journey to BP in time.

Dayum!

What time do you think the update will drop?

I need to *ahem* plan my day... :D

If the previous Beyond patches are any guide, they took down the servers around the start of the business day UK time, and they came back up 6-8 hours after that. Don't forget you can't play until you have the new patch installed. The patch seems to land on the download servers toward the end of that downtime, so you'll need a speedy connection to have the game ready to go when the servers come back online.

Yeah, that's why they extended the beta, so it would still be running when X4 launched - lol.

Best try and wrap that tinfoil around your head a bit more tightly, I think the alien signals are still getting through...
