Anyway, I stand by what I say. Fixed weapons really aren't that hard to use.
Maybe if people played the game instead of posting here demanding crutches then it wouldn't be a problem.
In any case, turrets are availble.

But I want to know why the bugs are attacking worlds surrounding Sol and the core worlds of the federation and doing squat all in imperial space..... have the filthy imps done a deal and betrayed humanity.... [???]

The human race just isn't gud enough to survive because our Ram Tah's couldn't figure out how to gimbal weapons, or make AX/Guardian weapons effective against human ships. We definitely deserve extinction.
The lie that Guardian weapons aren't effective against human ships really needs to stop being spread. It's entirely false.
While they are far more effective than AX weapons against human ships, and slightly more effective than stock weapons against human ships, they are entirely inadequate compared to engineered weapons against human ships.
Thus, being equipped with guardian weapons in a PvP encounter, or even a high end PvE encounter, is a handicap. A serious one in the case of PvP.
Pretty much this. I know that somebody was behind the reason why Thargoids attack humans, Aegis or INRA or whatever they're called these days. I want more intrigue and discovery based events in this game, I've had it with "Shoot this to shoot that and get this to do more shooting" already.So....
- I don't repair stations, because they're not stations I care about.
- I don't fight Thargoids, because they're not in systems I care about.
As soon as that changes, you'll see me there, and I don't really mind if it's "just me" repairing any stations I do care about, and fighting off Thargoids in systems I care about.
Personally, I'd be much more involved in Thargoid stuff if there were missions to collect tissue samples or hearts from the various Thargoid types, or scans, probes/links/sensors and the like.
UA interference already got switched off, so I'm not worried about FD letting it run rampant anyway.

Fingers crossed that the Codex will rectify all these obvious issues that need to be addressed since 2.4But this is the thing. Granted I'm "filling the gaps" somewhat here, but there's been *so* *much* *missed* *narrative* *gameplay* *opportunities*.
Let's just start with the obvious Wreaken Industries operating in Col 70, which is a sector known to be related to the Thargoids, and locked out from players.
Or the asteriod that exploded near the Pleiades unexpectedly.
Or the whole Canonn / Cone Sector stuff which could've been used a lot better to "preview" things to come.
Or the whole League of Reparation thing which was just a non-interactive story leading to a one-sided, vanilla Conflict CG.
Or how the Federal Capital Ship Overlook is stationed in HIP 22460, which also has a Thargoid Structure in that system, but is permit-locked entirely from players.
Or how Thargoid Sensor (Unknown Artefact) effects wrt Jacques claiming "They sing and then they come" which bears similarities to Halsey's ranting after her disappearance, which has essentially been retconned out of the game.
Or Halsey, full stop.
Or Polaris, full stop.
etc.
It really doesn't need to be much... but these things have been stale plot points for so. damn. long. If these things flared up and had interesting plot threads to follow from them, even if they just lead to half conclusions hinting at things later on, people might *actually* get interested in Thargoids.
Instead, all we've had is The Hunt, which would've been better if it had taken advantage of persistent NPCs akin to Engineers in a PvE environment, or the whole Salome thing, which was just an exercise in who can be besties with who.
I don't fight the Thargoids because all my weapons are currently useless and I am not in the mood to fit super extra special weapons only to face a Thargoid. >.<
