Weapon loadout advice need for Corvette (PVE)

So I currently have multis on the C4 and C3 hard points and beams on the rest. But I noticed that you can't bring the C3 and C4s to bear on target at the same time, probably because that C3 is on the bottom of the ship. So it seems pointless having a gimbal weapon on the large hardpoint. So I'm wondering what would be best on that hardpoint?

I put a concordant efficient pulse turret on mine, but as it's PVE you can as well put a mining laser on it or leave it free :D

A pair of huge beams up top can do anything, a large corrosive multicannon below is good for added damage effect (if needed just pull up the chin give it a quick blast to get the effect otherwise ignore it) and the other slots are for whatever you fancy just for laughs as you don't really need them. Force shell cannon is hilarious.

Oddly enough, that's exactly my loadout.

I'd suggest a pair of pulse-laser turrets in the medium slots.
Give 'em a G5 long-range mod' and they're superb for "tagging" everything in a CZ to maximise your CBs.
Also give 'em the "Emmisive" XFX and they'll prevent a lot of ships blinking off your scanner when they pop an SCB - as many, many NPCs tend to do.

*EDIT*

Regarding the C3 hardpoint, I have no idea how it manages it but my C3 multicannon has pretty-much the same arc-of-fire as my C4 lasers.
Presumably, it makes use of the same witchcraft that allows the FdL's C4 weapon to fire upwards, through the hull of the ship. [where is it]

I'm running 2 huge efficient beams (gimballed), 2 small turreted MC's (overcharged, 1 corrosive and 1 incendiary), the 2 mediums carry high-capacity packhounds and the 3 large is a high-cap seeker-rack (thermal/emissive/drag).

In many cases, I don't need to fire any missiles, but they're useful for show, to engage long distanced targets, or simply to speed up the NPC's demise:)

Might not be the most effective/efficient but sure is fun and that's all that matters in PvE;)

Unless you're pointing dead straight on at the target at specific distances* that isn't an issue. In general combat where you are moving around a lot you'll have no problem getting various weapons to bear.

* Convergence varies with distance from target.

Just in the process of unlocking packhounds, myself.

Don't think I've ever fitted missiles to any ship but, as you say, it's a "Wheeee! Fireworks!" thing.

If you only use it for PvE then 2 huge fixed burst lasers will devastate all.
The rest is for fun. Mix and match and get a variety of crazy engineered tools aboard.

All beam turrets except for two huge gimbal multicannons. With engineered distributor this can fire continuously. Also a SLF.

For PVE Efficient Fixed Beams in both the huge & large slots - then learn to paint the target.

Fixed damage is a lot more [yesnod].

All others put what you like - it doesn't matter, but long range lasers on the smalls does drag ships to you.

Add Thermal Vent to the big boys, and never carry a heat sink again.

For PVP get a different ship :x

On my vette, I generally match the hard points to 2 groups. The mediums and large are one trigger and the huge on the other trigger. I put turrets on the smalls so those just need to be assigned to either.

That said, I have been having a lot of fun with 2 frag turrets (one thermal, one corrosive), 2M and 1L gimballed beam (all long range/thermal vent), and 2 huge multi cannons (overcharged/autoloader). This setup shreds in PVE. I find that gimbals re the best on the corvette for time on target. As long as the enemy is in front of me, at least one beam is hitting them. When I can line up all 3, it drops the shield super fast. I have a compromised nav beacon in my home system and I can stay out there for a while.

Fighters are also important. I carry a beam condor, and a lance. Very fun to see the NPC snipe with the lance lol.

Yes! I ran huge phasing bursts for a while and it was great! Put pulse on the mediums and large thermal vent beam on the bottom. I could stay in the haz res forever

I've recently been using both a trio of Plasma Chargers on the C1's and C3, and a trio of Shard Cannons, supported by gimbaled Multicannons on the C4's and C2's. It's effective and fun, and I think grouping the C3 with the C1's gives the best mixed-hardpoint convergence.

Dual thermal vent gimbled beams on the size 4, and all other hardpoints fixed dualshot screening shell frags, with 1 corrosive frag.

Assasinations become easy peasy

You're right about the convergence issue with multicannons on both the top and bottom - The multis need to lead the target and the firing arc of the C3 lower hardpoint is limited by the nose of the Corvette. You should really be putting a gimbal or turret hitscan weapon on the lower hardpoint so that it can hit the same target reticule of the gimbal C4 multicannons up top - assuming you want to use it in the same fire group as everything else.

If you want the MC + beam loadout for endurance at a CNB/HazRES/CZ then you should just put a beam turret underneath. You'll be taking a dps hit but the WEP draw of a turret is pretty low, and they won't wastefully fire if they can't reach the target. The alternative is to have the C3 hardpoint as a second fire group for a completely different purpose. One of the most annoying NPC tendencies is that smaller, faster ships run away on less than 25% hull and it's a huge waste of your time to chase them or send the SLF off to get them. Instead, put a large, high-capacity seeker missile rack on the C3 and enjoy 72 reasons not to chase down annoying small targets that have run out of range.
