I'm not mad bud. I'm just commenting....you know like a forum is for. I don't really care tbh. I just think it's a rotten way to treat people. I acknowledged many people are evidently satisfied with the situation. I just personally think those people are soft for letting themselves be taken for mugs. But i wouldn't tell anyone they're wrong for being satisfied.

UM - Frontier existed WAAAY before Elite: Dangerous as a very successful business..... and the kickstarter funds were a drop in the ocean on the cost of producing E:D !

I think you've taken my statement a bit literally.

Well something is better than nothing so we'll have to see. You know I never wanted to feel bitter and angry with David Braben. It has always made me feel sad, frustrated, and disappointed because back in the day he was one of those people who was someone to look up to. Hmm..

Anyway bud, take some advice from someone who has been there, use your time for something constructive and positive. It doesn't do us any good to bash our heads against the wall ;)

I know, I know. My frustration with ED was always because of my love for the game...or at least it's potential. I found people's apathy abd acceptance of half-baked development frustrating. I still believe if the players who support this game had held Braben and co to account this game could have been incredible. The cult of Braben allowed it to become mired in complacency and rubbish mechanics. The fact people are still willing to accept being treated as fools reinforces that view for me.

If you look at Gladsdoor reviews, every single negative is one thing - the CEO.

Long life to our Lord and God Braben

on a more serious note, i doubt that Todd Howard (the equivalent of Braben for Fallout) is still in is previous charismatic position since fallout 76
if people felt the same about Elite, Braben wouldn't be still respected

You underestimate how much has been said and influenced FD in these forums (for good or ill).

To be fair Jammie gets annoyed at lots of things he doesn't have a clue about - he was irate about the treatment of people who raised beta bugs, despite not raising any himself.

Next he will probably be livid about mac support being removed, despite not having a mac.

It think Rambo is just a very dutiful person. They aren't just satisfied with having to deal with "a young family, busy job and professional exams to study for" which barely leave them time to play one video game, they also need to look out for the downtrodden of this corner of the internet, who on top of receiving what they paid for are also getting free stuff the poor souls.

Well aren't I glad I didn't buy one. Enjoy your bobbleheads and paintjobs. I guess everyone will feel differently but I know if it were me, I'd be demanding a refund. That's just insulting. I can't believe that's the content FDev spoke of earlier in the year.

Lol, you dont even have a LEP and you still feel the need to use this to start another comolain topic? That seems... desperate. [haha]

so now even people who did not buy the LP are mad about the LP... what a time to be alive

I am fairly confident he doesnt care either way. It are the responses to his topics he is after. This topic just means he is running out of material. I am sure todays update will provide plenty of material though, as long as people keep biting. :)

Its not that bad, better than nothing.

It would have been nicer if they made it a bunch of Christmas paints every year.. i think that would have been more in line with the LEP, and that's how it worked with the black friday paints. But better than nothing so thankyou.

My uncertain wager would be on the rest of the half of the festive gold set.

All I can say is this, I am far more satisfied with my Elite: Dangerous Lifetime Expansion pass (total cost: ~$200 US), than I am with any purchase I have made in the past decade from EA.

There's plenty of issues with ED: nonsensical mechanics everywhere, broken balance, lack of persistence, lack of consequences all around...all of which could give you entire months worth of discussion and yet here were are complaining about the LEP and FD's Glassdoor reviews.
Two years ago I created a thread out of frustration with what people criticized Frontier for at the time... frankly since then I feel the quality of the criticism has only gone downhill.

£200 - 5 years ago. A.k.a. £40 a year. A.k.a. Less than a pound a week.

How many hours have you played the game for?

Without the early backers, the game would never have got off the ground so it would have been £200 wasted.
Instead be thankful that there were enough like minded individuals that meant the game cane into being.

Frontier have given something to you, free, that they will charge other people for.

They didn’t need to.

Woah, hold it right there fella. Coming in here being all reasonable.
Everybody just ignore this guy and his 'making sense' schtick.

I would just like to point out that Frontier stated months ago (yes, months ago) that the premium content orginally planned wasn't going to make it into the update, and that LEP holders would be getting some free stuff from the store.

Also, it's quite condescending to feel for someone or a group of someone's to which you do not belong. LEP holders are quite capable of making a thread like this on their own.

Finally, it is, again, quite condescending to poop on other people's enjoyment for any reason, let alone because you feel that your own standards are far superior.

Edit: After reading the LEP post from Will, it looks like they are getting $15-$20 worth of stuff for free. Isn't that roughly the cost of the game right now?

My favourite part of any computer game is complaining about things that are completely tangential to my enjoyment of said computer game.

Let's hope that Frontier continue to do things that don't match my idealised and unreasonable ideas of what a computer game developer should do, so that I can continue to level up my entitlement stat.

Shut up and begone with you.

Ohhh ... i've never owned a bobblehead before, let alone two, this is exciting, not sure how i'll get to sleep tonight, i think the first thing i'll d.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I am still waiting for the email, so I can see what free extra goodies I can fit to my ships, sometime in the next decade.

The email should arrive tomorrow sometime after they take down the servers for the update.

Myself, I was expecting to get some sort of official statement on development status, so the freebies I see as a nice gesture to acknowledge and apologize for the delays. It tells me that there is stuff coming, otherwise fdev would be trying to pretend LEP doesn't exist.

Lifetime Pass owner since early Beta. Have played this game longer than any other game I have had. Was well worth the money I payed to help ED get going. Is it all I want? no, I think it is still missing lots of stuff that I want to see, mostly atmospheric landings.

I have never owned a bobblehead so will be nice to see one.
