PvP Cheesy build for PvP Noob?

Cheers CMDRs!

Being not the best pilot (and never going to be), I took some inspiration from those Reverb Cascade videos and tried to throw together a cheap small fighter for the purpose of blowing up and getting revenge on those big guys blowing me up (mostly at CGs...).

Having not much experience in PvP, especially not with a (in my opinion quite cheesy) build like this, would this be viable?

Reverberating cascade torpedoes are a fairly high skill weapon, especially in the case of the large pylons as they take time to empty. A pair of packhounds aren't particularly good finishers either...unless the ship is very lightly armored, you'll have difficulty destroying a large combat ship even if you land enough torpedoes to knock out the shield generator.

Torps work best in a wing. My crew has been practicing with these this week. By yourself, you'll end up pestering the big bois. At best you'll take out a shield gen and jump out laughing all the way. You need support to finish off your victim. Even then, if your victim is prepared or has a wing of his own you and your wing may end up with egg on your faces, but that's all part of the fun.

It's a pretty poor build that will most likely only get you killed. Torps on a slow ship like the DBX is gonna be really hard to land.
I changed a bunch of stuff to give you a better build but I still wouldn't suggest it.

Here ya go. Vulture to aim for if you wanna cause some trouble, or fight back some. Nice and cheap to learn in, and its the more 'Serious' small ship, and can contend with some mediums. I went gimballed frags 'cause they're easy to use. I recommend plasma accelerators myself, but those require practice. Maybe start with NPCs.

You can mod the bulkheads for Heavy Duty instead of Lightweight, but you'll be trading some speed for more durability. Other shield mods/experimental combos can be used as well, it just depends on your preference/weapon loadout.

You can apply this type of build to most non-FDL medium ships. Biweaves, pile of armor (More module reinforcement will be needed), weapons of your choice. Ta da, PVP ship. Experience is all you need from there. Keeping a positive attutude is the most important part, I think. If you aren't having fun, whats the point, ya know?

Not sure what paltform you're on, but if you're Xbox, feel free to drop by the discord in my sig. Lotta the regular Xbox PvP guys are in there, as well as some newer folks who are interested in starting PvP.

Hmmm...you know the idea is not bad...just a bit half baked...I think I see what you want to do here.

Why not trade the PAs for more torpedoes.
Engineer everything else for lo-draw so you can stay icy cold and use silent running.

I believe a few people have successfully done this in the DBS as it runs a touch cooler.

That way...you sneak in unseen...get within the sweet window for the torps and let 'em rip before the target even sees you...then get the hell out of dodge.

Maximum nuisance value in a CG!

An engineered DBS is much faster too.
