What features would you like to see implemented to support roleplay?
For example would you like structured missions for your role, how would they work, what would be the reward, could they be done in a co-op fashion...
What other instances might happen that are not supported by the game but could happen?
Could joining a in-game Guild/Faction/Military replace the possible need for player created clans?
This thread is not intended to discuss whether roleplay should exist, but for those that would like to do it!

Suggestions by posters
Features for roles (General):-
Factions/Guilds provide access to better/specialist equipment/ships (at a cost) as you gain rank
Bases which only give landing clearance to members of the guild
Once you've gained enough rank you could give orders to nearby NPC friendlies
Co-Op Missions
Higher ranking members could create missions for other players
Anyone can pursue whatever activities they like freelance, however, to make the most of this career, they need to join a guild/faction
Players would have to meet various requirements to progress in a faction to gain access to better missions and benefits
Significant progress in one faction would make progress in an opposing guild much harder
Team missions - groups formed to supply a large contract - build space station etc

Rescue rich guys daughter from an imperial prison and get her back to federation space
Smuggle imperial agents to federation military world
Pirate
Bounty Hunter
Military
Explorer
Send a probe to planet x
Investigate anomaly at co-ordinates #####
Pick up scientists and their 'cargo' from xxxx
Mine asteroid xxx for mineral xxx and return for research
Rescue science ship xxx which is being slowly pulled into star xxx
Take readings from neblua x, pulsar x, star x etc....
