In my honest opinion I believe we need a more top to bottom improvement in environment creation, in every aspect. I believe we need in addition/conjunction to your ideas:
-More Ground Brushes (Swamp/Marsh, Sand, Rocky, Mountain, Plane, Mud, etc.)
-More Tree Variety (Varied Tropical Rain forest trees, Varied Swamp/Marsh Trees, Varied Desert Trees, Varied Non-Tropical Rain forest trees, etc.)
-More Shrub Variety (Varied Tropical shrubs (Ferns, etc.), Varied Desert Shrubs, Varied Swamp Shrubs, etc.)
-Possibly deeper water levels (although this idea isn't as major as the three things listed above.
I would relish the idea to create all sorts of different and varied environments for the dinosaurs and I wish to have a good discussion with you and others so that we can offer the best ideas for this main idea to the Devs.
you beat me to it i was going to make a post about adding new lanscape tool to add
- like the swamp effect basicaly placeing water on the ground like with the normal water tool but you would have a box you click to turn on or off to add the trees and some plants and mudy water areas as you spread the watet it would apeare in it for the swamp effect you can use the tree tool to add more trees.
- the desert area would basicaly be a sand tool witch would have foliage tool option next to the sand tool that would make cactus and palm trees also small rocks apear in places for the desert effect as you scroll across the sand areas.
- a dirt bruss option adds as you guess dirt but has a second brush that add after you put the dirt down it add the fallen rotting logs rocks and some bushes.
- another tool option is long grass brush tool so you dont just have short flat grass in enclosures and dont have to rely on the forest tool to have long grass.
last a tool like a giant circle magnifying glass or xray that alous you to see into the forest areas you make with the tree tool as i find not being able to follow or even see my dinos in the large tree areas anoying lol though all the rest of what you sugest i like to.
