Newcomer / Intro Escape Vector?

You are aligned with your jump destination. Your escape vector is at 90 degrees from the planet. Your secondary targeting reticule (to the right of the station hologram) is showing the direction to the escape vector. Pointing at 1 oclock

When leaving planets, 45 degrees also counts as Escape Vector, although there is no target for you to aim at.

Thanks boys. Its the jump one I'm after here. Should have taken the blinkers off and turned head and looked around.

In situations like these, when the game asks you to do something you're not entirely sure about, the little compass next to the scanner screen in front of you can be really invaluable.

Another mapping tip! Because going to Supercruise and Hyperspace Jump are used so much I mapped them (Options/Controls/Flight Miscellaneous) to the Spacebar and right shift buttons, simply because they were the 2 largest buttons on my keyboard. I still have J for FSD toggle as a secondary.

You'll often find you can comfortably map the same button 3 or 4 times without causing any conflicts as they are doing unconnected things. For example when you are going to supercruise with the spacebar you aren't selecting something in a menu.

In additon, destination vectors are yellow or gold or orange depending on one hues, escape vectors are always blue or a slight variation of blue.
