Mamba heat post beta

Despite my damnedest efforts I have not been able to get above 70% around a star outside of triggering the FSD or ramming the Exclusion zone.

Havent really noticed it be particualrly toasty in Combat though.

Yeah it’s the Beta 4 Mamba still.

I think I remember a post from Will F. saying they heard the community about the speed and would addressing in in 3.3.01.

It really needs to be a 620 speed ship with Reactive armor and Prismatic shields.

Mine is a 577 speed ship with lightweight and prismos. Interestingly, I moved the same shield gen and SB's over from my FDL (w/2900mj) and on the mamba it has 2600mj.

I heard it's slower than a Krait Phantom - which is my ship. 422 m/s cruise and 591 m/s boost in combat-explorer build, thank you very much. That's odd, since by its description the Mamba should trounce the Krait Phantom and every other medium ship straight-line-speed-wise.

I built a Krait Phantom with similar stats. It's great fun to fly and I'll enjoy using it as an explorer. For in-bubble exploration, I've gone back to my Clipper; can't jump as far, but is faster and better for gather mats.

I've bought a Mamba but not had time to do any work on it yet. It's a sleek ship. Hope it gets faster while keeping decent heat dissipation.

Also bought Midnight skins for both, though I prefer the Mamba's default skin. :)

I didn't do beta as in the past that kind of spoiled the release for me. anyways I got my Mamba (Mambo No5) and no heat issues with G3 DD's and full A Rate Build

It's top potential speed is still higher (624 vs. 591), but it's difficult to reach as it's far more sensitive to mass than the Phantom.

I have a fully engineered A rated FDL and I’m in the pub, four pints in, with another two in front of me (damn your eyes, Mike), so I wonder what I’ll be doing when I get home. At about half twelve.

Mine overheats to about 130% after firing weapons once. However the weapons aren't engineered so I'll reserve judgement until I get to engineering them.

Can't get mine above mid 60's temp wise even when scooping fuel - mild engineering with what I had on hand - fitted with two small guardian shards, 2 ax mc and one ridiculously massive mc on the largest hardpont - absolutely shreds the Thargoid scouts.

The Mamba should be the fastest ship in the game. Take a look at its belly and you can see 1/2 the ship is engine(s). Thank goodness I got some good screen shots of its underside during Beta; its a cool looking ship imho. ... and those engines :)

I’m okay with the speed - now the fastest ship I own. Agility could do with improving for sure ... really have to work for kills against FAS, Vultures, etc but it is doable so maybe could live without. Biggest issue for me is the shields. Against wings, with that large hit surface and low agility, they take a pounding and simply don’t recharge quick enough. I think the C5 internal needs increasing to a C6 so a 6C BiWeave Shield can be equipped: not so much for the extra MJ (although that’s always nice!) but for the huge jump in charge speed.
