Just tried the new Conflict Zones CG for Q4 update. What a mess FD.

The new combat zones...

At first I enjoyed the increased difficulty. I mean, seriously, it will become much harder to sustain the fight in these without a wing, which is challenging and great, where Elite ships are very tough now by comparison to before. But when the game spawns extra ships who attack you and you're being asked to engage them, which then results in you becoming wanted by them followed by an authority ship inbound warning in an otherwise lawless zone, honestly, what the hell FD?

I'm genuinely happy with some of the changes to Q4, but I'm becoming a bit tired of the blatant bugs and flaws to each major update that should be evident to you from a single playthrough session in most cases. How much staff do you have on this game again?

I'm a bit up and down in this forum. I post rants and raves. I genuinely do appreciate the Q4 update, but I cannot appreciate this pattern and trend to each major update released where obvious bugs and flaws are allowed to pass, then we, the community are expected to jump hoops in the bug section.

Play your own game and please get some of these things tweaked quickly if you can. It's bad enough some major bugs are also in play with the game, such as full control loss and freeze ups lasting upto 20 seconds per time. But things like this really kill the immersion where I genuinely wanted to properly enjoy the new combat zones.

Anyways, I'm sure you will take a look into these matters, but please surprise us with a cleaner release in future by testing the game. Thanks.

They wont "look into these matters" until you submit a bug report about what you believe went wrong with your situation.

Like I said, jumping hoops. The game even displays the wrong information for the factions involved up top. Showed both as being dictatorships when in fact one is corporate. But that's a minor detail.

The fact is that all of us paid for this content through purchasing Elite and Horizons. The company make a lot of money through the cosmetics, since almost every ship I see has modified cosmetics. I myself have paid a lot and poured a lot of faith into this game. So I think it is about time the company were a little more meticulous with their update releases as this is becoming a trend, sadly.

Seriously, what is it with you guys not thinking stuff through, despite a large Beta period? Remember when the new Ai released? The insta death plasma etc. Time and again it is asked if you ever play test your own product.

Your complaint is too scatterbrained to be useful. I'm not sure what your upset about. CZ's are too hard? You got "wanted" status? timeouts?

OK, it's a long post, but my complaint is very clear. It's regarding the blatant bugs and flaws with each release. The new combat zones are spawning ships that attack you who are clean in a lawless combat zone state, then your firing back makes you wanted and a kill will increase noteriety against you. This also summons authority ships.

FD shouldn't be missing these problems in major aspects of their release. Read my original post properly for the details.

I understand it's frustrating, but the more commanders who submit bug reports, and support each other's reports, the sooner FD will get onto the issue to fix it. Otherwise, it relies on someone picking up your comments and deciding to run with it .... which is chancey.

That's fair and true. I just wish the company would ditch this trend, personally, as we all wait for and pour our faith into the major updates they hype up, then they release with bugs the company should not be missing.

Plenty of problems with CZs already reported, mostly around wings.

1) Not everyone gets the prompt to choose a side.
2) Not everyone in the wing sees the 'lawless' tag, and when they shoot a ship, they get a bounty - and notoriety if they score a kill. This also draws ATR/system authority ships.
3) At the same time, other wings members get bonds properly
4) The notoriety from those kills does not fade.

As a bonus, target a wingman's target no longer works.

IIRC none of these problems happen when not in a wing.

Also I believe this was reported during the beta, along with many other bugs that showed up in live release.

I was flying solo and it was happening with me.

Learn to behave and control your language. Fill out a bug report. And now go on. Thank you!

Then you might want to add that to the bug threads. We had people doing CZs solo without issues so I had assumed it was wing only problem.

Doesn't it bother you with each release we are expected to submit elaborate bug reports on issues FD could recreate themselves by simply playing their game one time?

The control bug is obvious, the freeze ups occur, and a trip to a combat zone during a single playthrough might be all it takes to reveal this issue.

They have been working on this all year. These kinds of flaws shouldn't be released with a majorly anticipated update such as the Q4 one. This trend needs to stop. I just wish to play and enjoy Elite without this trend of needing to wait for additional patches for blatantly missed bugs and flaws.

My thread's intent is to implore FD. So I really hope they listen.

(...) It's bad enough some major bugs are also in play with the game, such as full control loss and freeze ups lasting upto 20 seconds per time. (...)

For the past 4 years never had any of such problems. And your rant clearly shows you have little idea what modern gaming development looks like. Why would you? You're just an end-user. But you're a customer as well, willing to express your opinion on the product, which is what you're doing. But the way you're doing it is too offensive in my humble opinion.

Also, take a note please, you're playing one of the most complex game in the industry at the moment, when it comes down to the game's source code. Maybe after taking this into consideration you'll chill a bit with raging towards people you don't even know on a matters you only know about one side of.

...and as Commander Lightspeed advised you: way more efficient to have your issues solved is to report your case to the bugs forum, not ranting here.

Cheers!

Sorry, but where's the rage? I think some people are being a tad touchy about my thread for no reason. If you have also been around since the game came about you should know better than to dispute what I'm getting at.

Remember the Ai update as I'd mentioned there? That should never have happened with a major release. FD set the date and that implies they're happy with the release. This is why I'm expressing disappointment, not rage. Emphasis included with some points made.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
'Play the ball, not the player.'

Keep on topic and off each other's backs, ya'll. Thank you.

They wont "look into these matters" until you submit a bug report about what you believe went wrong with your situation and wait a year or more for the issue to be resolved, if resolved.
