Some more evidence to support Space Legs

Yeah yeah another space legs thread... however I feel there is more evidence to support the possibility of 2019 being a space legs year.

1. Frontier seemed to have listened when it came to mining, squadrons and missions. All features the community wanted improved. Therefore using this theory Space Legs must be something FDev is heavily considering as we ask for it so often, it's also a lot less work than atmos planets.

2. New structures and mega ships. All the structures and megaships just give me this feeling when I jump into an area that they are waiting to be boarded. Now I know we have scenario missions for some of them but in my home system there are a couple of structures you can see and scan. I just feel like they are waiting for me to dock n board them.

3. Type 9s abandoned in Signal Sources. I keep jumping into signal sources with Type 9s just floating there with cargo all over the place. A lot of these used to be wreckage and rubble but now they are just floating there intact. Again I feel like I could just fly close and board them.

4. No new SRV or ground vehicle since Horizons! Surely by now we'd expect another ground vehicle, maybe Fdev is working on character walking rather than these? They are currently the only method of leaving ship.

Obviously we have the Thargoid and Guardian structures from previous patches and Fdev added the commander creator a while back. We have lots of random generated ground bases on planets which could easily be docked at with an SRV.

I almost feel like Fdev might go for a holo projection of our commanders when we walk around ships.

Finally we've been told the next big part of Elite has gone into full production. Horizons was the first big change/update so with what space legs brings it's easy to argue it will be done over chapters.

NOBODY ever spoke out saying they didn't want improvements to Mining, Missions, Exploration etc though did they? (At worst people suggested other priorities alongside them) Whenever Space legs are mentioned for every advocate of "Space Legs" there's another person who points out its ridiculous, a waste of Dev time and not in keeping with the core game...
There's a substantial number of anti-Space legs voices as well as pro-Space Legs voices...

Legs are needed indeed for some content.

Going around in the Guardian structures with the SRV is a real pain! SRV are only good for jumping canyons and to move quickly on the rough surface where the ships can't land. Everything about disabling turrets, power generator, guardian blueprints and so on it's just a bad FPS integration. Legs would be much better for all these purposes.

BUT

On my priority list the next DLC I wish to be released is Atmospheric Planets.

Here's some more for ya...

1) the detail of the ship interiors have increased in the last update, almost as if they are getting ready for closer inspection

2) I'm almost certain the boarding ramp to my Cobra IV has defined steps which I'm not sure it had before (might be wishful thinking)

3) when you click on Holo-Me in the cockpit now, the camera view 'straightens up' and briefly changes to a black screen almost as though you are getting into a vehicle (similar to when we select the SRV).

All a bit of speculation and no concrete evidence, but this is the first time there's been something in game I can't quite put my finger on

BUT

On my priority list, the next DLC I wish to be released is...

Space legs
Space legs
Space legs

;)

Look closely on every ships rear part - even there are doors on the rear side of the ships, everyship has a ramp to let down so a lift could get down.

personally i would prefer a torso, head, feet and some space arms too, i mean a pair of legs running about is a bit daft dont you think? i mean they haven't even got feet!

No its not. You're just to clumsy with SRV throttle. Riding with FA off might help you and always, always use HOTAS throttle. SRV is a marvelous piece of tech and great fun to ride and sneak and shoot and all. :)

You really think Frontier introduced Beyond season because "community" was asking for it? Dude, its not an indie game, ist an AAA title!

Have some trust in the development skills and many decades experience of Frontier. They gave us Beyond for to make better what already was in game and to prepare for next to come. I can assure you though "space legs" will never arrive to Elite Dangerous. Why would it? Oh wait..., I know! Coz "community" wants it! C'mon dude, grow up!:)

It might well arrive, not because of "community", but because it was on the plan, and taking more time than intended aside, the plan is as far as we know still progressing.

I do already but I don't like it because you always crash or remain stuck into some rock or brick. You have separate controls for driving and aiming (when you need to shoot the sentinels) then you always need to switch throttle fwd-rear mode. To me it's a nightmare! :p

I would prefer smaller scale dungeons to be played on legs/feet

There is material listed for planets with an atmosphere. Also some surface sites in beta, not sure about those though. But well, materials. On atmospheric planets.

I don't think normal players would pay for space legs. If it does happen, I bet it gets slashed in a price sale within a few months.

1) Have you not need to master your piloting skills not to crash during landing or stuck in mailslot or being a sitting duck during a dogfight? :)

2) Maybe you're driving to fast? Rocks on your track are obstacles and its great fun to avoid them by steering or jumping. Take a closer attention to them and treat them with respect they deserve. ;)

3) For turret aiming use EDtracker. Its great to use your head movements for aiming! Its 500% more accurate that way as well.

4) And for switching fwd/rear throttle set a non-toggle button on your hotas. You'll he able to only throttle rear if holding down the key. This option of how the coresponding key acts you can set in game's options.

5) It's clear for me you're missing a lot of fun because you never fully customised your SRV experience and you'r rushing to much. This baby can drive up to ca. 300 km/h mate. You need to be gentle with it's power.

6) And most important: TURN SRV ASSIST OFF in 1st place! It'll be way more forgiving to your throttle.

I actively hope that we don't get space legs, as I just really want an updated version of the original game, and other games can focus on walking around. If they do introduce legs, I'd hope it's in the form of an avoidable add on.
