Free Market

What are the chances of being able to purchase and or willingly exchange items/credits in pvp? Free market anyone?

Gold sellers

Giving a new player an Anaconda when they don't even know how to fly a sidewinder.

Good point. Though unless they are receiving charity, I don't think they would get an Anaconda any cheaper, or sooner, beings that the seller paid market price... I do see a benefit to CMDR's being able to exchange/barter among themselves.

Let point out GOLD SELLERS again. They will farm and buy Anacondas outfit it and sell it for REAL MONEY. Who benefits again. GOLD SELLERS.

Any mechanism that allows direct player to player exchange of "stuff" will attract gold sellers, and any mitigation to this will in most cases make the function useless for its intended purpose.

And one of the most effective way to solve this is to prohibit direct player to player exchange of stuff, ie a classic Market House, where you post your stuff, and anyone with enough funds can buy it. You have no option to direct the sale to a specific player.

So now we can queue in all the credits exploits, and rants about how hard it is to make credits, it is to grindy etc, etc, And we will most likely see FDev once again go heavy handed in nerfing new hotspots to make credits...

All someone has to do is mention item trading, and they jump on it like flies on a cowpie with the gold farmer/seller bilge.

That concern has been disproven time and time again, and it's because of this continuous fighting with windmills is what keeps this game from really getting better.

In short other people, Cmdr to Cmdr trading should already be a thing, yet sadly it's not because of "reasons", frustratingly stupid reasons.

That's an opinion, you need to provide evidence, and you haven't.

My opinion, garnered from every game that has an open market, is that gold sellers make life a misery for most players with endless spam in the chat channels such that the devs have to spend time and resources to try and filter them out, and you know they always get around it. It became so bad in LOTRO that most players just stopped bothering with chat channels and used other methods for ingame chat, you couldn't even block them. The forums also got flooded with gold seller spam. I would rather no trading than put up with gold sellers, and I have yet to see a suggestion that would actually work to prevent godl sellers taking advantage of it.

Still we are all entitled to our own opinions, so until you can actually put forward some evidence to support yours I shall choose to ignore it or argue against it.

Ummm what?! I thought they just gave newbies high end items to sell for the pleasure of it, I never knew THIS ^ was a thing!!!

You know, I once went to Asellus Primus in a Conda with a few meta alloys, and was goig to give it to newbies as an encouragement that people in open can be nice and generous, they did not take that message and thought I was trying to gank them. they would always just fly off or wake out :(

So I gave up trying to be a giver and went on my own path....
