Beyond is great but please let the next updates focus on combat and PvP

The Replicated Man

That's why it's so confusing. CQC is the PvP on equal footing, equal ships, only skill counts, and few PvPers want it. Then engineering, making skill unnecessary and the testament to grinding patience--as you say--and PvPers leave the game. Basically, PvPers don't want equal game play, and they don't want engineering, so in the end, neither of those things is what PvPers really want. It's a bit of conundrum.

I wonder if a majority of PvPers really don't want pew-pew, but rather would like to see other build in mechanics for other PvP activities? Let's say there were ways to do racing, capture the flag, and other non-kill-on-sight competitions, it would make the whole PvP scene wider in concept. I know there's racing right now, but I think there could be ways how events could be created and managed by players in-game instead of off-game.

Sigh, I am not going to waste my time to counter your statement. Its not worth my time

Well, you're only being opposed by sarcasm and superior knowingness rather than any facts or reasoning, so I think you're spot on.

It looks to me like CQC offers PvPers everything they ask for, but there's one more thing they want and keep quiet about: unwilling victims. Since CQC doesn't have those it was doomed to fail.

It wasn't so much of a statement or argument, but rather a hypothesis and a suggestion for expanding on the PvP features that obviously are not good enough right now. It's very simple, if PvPers don't like what's in Elite right now, then what needs to be changed/added? So to suggest things is not to make a statement, but rather to help bringing ideas up.

LOL is this a joke thread?
PVP/Combat (10% of player base) is absolutely the last aspect that need focus. Why? Cause you had love from the 1.0 to 3.2 (even 3.3).
We need PVE and Exploration content (90% of player base) as main focus.

Stop trolling please

I didn't say that. I just hope combat and pvp gets as much of an upgrade next year as exploration and mining just got.

Haha! You're joking right? Mining is just catching up and the FSS is just a replacement for the initial system. Combat is huge and even got its own buffs in 3.3.

It's about time Fdev actual have mining and exploration some much needed attention. And they still need a lot more attention before combat should get any more huge upgrades.

By the way, combat did get a bunch of updates in the latest release. Conflict zones are a lot more advanced and harder to do. Thargoid incursions, protecting stations from pirates while they're under construction, and more.

Lol, 36 pages and people are still asking if this is a joke.
Plot twist, you're a joke.

You obviously know nothing about PvP or pvpers so maybe keep your absurd opinions to yourself, or post them on the internet so we can all laugh at them.

Yup. And if you try to meet them halfway and suggest improvements on their lacking features, they're just respond with rudeness and bullying. I will just ignore them now. They're not worth my time.

P1: "Disagree with me? You must not know anything."

This weird obsessive behavior over CQC becomes suspicious. What can we learn from this behavior? You decide.

An improved CQC doesn't immediately mean that other changes to combat/PvP couldn't happen. It's apparent that an arena style outlet with leader boards and matchmaking cannot even be considered as scratching the itch AP looks to sate. So much so, that the very mention of the idea causes an oversized reaction. Fortunately, this is, right now at least, one guys opinion.

Honestly, I'm not sure why my post got the huge reaction.

I believe PvP and combat both can be improved and have much more added to it. Improved CQC, I'm all for it. Incorporate CQC into the live universe of Elite is something I suggested 2 years ago. Add some function to have player factions or squadrons declare wars. There's so much that can be done, but currently, obviously, CQC isn't good enough, and engineering has ruined skilled PvP (according to plenty of PvPers opinions on this forum in the past) and made PvP combat into engineer-grind competition. So combat and PvP can and should be improved, and I even have supported open only powerplay in the past, but for some reason, my opinions are laughable... :(

What on Earth are you talking about. Did you even read the absolutely absurdities that they wrote? "Engineering removes skill from PvP" "pvpers don't want a level playing field, they just want easy kills". Some of the dumbest comments I've ever read in my life and you think I'm just calmly say "hmm you might have a point".
No these statements are the most foolish thing I've ever heard and if people are gonna post foolish crap like that then I'm gonna laugh at it.

You said "engineering removes skill". That's pretty laughable.

The funny thing about all this, is they are well aware of how the game should be played out.

Everyone understands it because its common sense. Even the people against it.

What they dont want, is to have repercussions from the people they are fighting against when it comes to their own territory or someone elses. They like being able to hide and poke at people.

Rebuys are what allows people to win or lose systems within player groups.

Even they want to shoot transport ships during events. Because it would be convenient for them instead.

But the BGS and Player groups? Noooooooooooo. Cant have that.

Because all we want are easy kills.

They talk themselves in circles and expect people not to call them out on it.

So you're saying Engineering increases the required piloting skills from the Engineered Ship's pilot, in order to win an engagement (vs non-engineered)? [haha]

No thats not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that everything you said about pvpers is off-your-rocker insane and your view towards pvpers is disgusting.
You should go back and see all the responses to your absolutely bonkers comment. Go ahead, I'll wait.....
