FD, for the love of God and all that is Holy, can you please fix the PvP Hatchbreaker bug?

And to be fair, his laser pointers probably have less dps than your shield-regen :/ What happened to pirates leaving you at > 10% hull, for the first offense? <sigh> Fdev plz.
I can attest to that fact... I hit him hard with my DBS for like 30 seconds and only pulled him down like maybe one ring. Not much that mouse will do to him... Roaring or not!

DBS weapons
1 small multi - G4 overcharged and Autoloader
1 small beam - G4 overcharged and thermal conduit
1 medium multi - G4 High Capacity and Corrosive
1 medium burst – G4 Overcharged and inertial impact

Until I accidentally hit SR while trying to chat. They went down real fast then.

lol - this wasn't about salt. It was a legitimate piracy attempt.

Old boy wasn't exactly begging for his life when he whipped those pulse lasers out.

I told you, I will steal anything from anybody :D

Fair enough.

I might rob a Hauler tomorrow too... And blow him up afterwards. Been a while since I murdered in-game.

Given the time passing to this announcement prepare yourself,
you might face the obscure Hauler combat cult.
*oops* you don't speak about HCC....

Would be a pretty dull game if mission cargo were magically protected from piracy.

Didn't watch the video, is this the bug where you scoop the items but they dissapear from your cargo bay, or are the items not even dropping from the cargo bay in the first place now?

Had a think, and I'm pretty sure he's dead because you shot him.

In a practical sense you are in fact correct but from an ultimate causal perspective FD is defo at fault.

Totally at the feet of the Cargo developer.

Edit: Come to think of it, if I were Vin I would be asking for some compensation from FD. Nothing too fancy, maybe a ton of Opals or something.

The one where the cargo never drops, despite all indications that it should have.

Or is he dead because he shot me?

Eh? Think about it.

But in this case you would admit that credits or valuable goodies actually have a meaning. A veteran like Vin has certainly long left this healthy stage of the game (which in my opinion lasts about 3 month at best).

You're right, Pico. I have reached a point in the game where credits mean little to me - I have enough for hundreds of rebuys on most of my ships.

A lot of players focus on credit value, and I don't blame them for it.

But as far as piracy goes, the value of the cargo I steal means little to me. This goes for both Players and NPCs. Yes, I do enjoy a nice windfall and will do my best to put myself in the position of gaining one, but if I can steal it then I will steal it, regardless of the value. For me it's about having a nice pile of stolen stuff in my cargo hold.

Here... about 30 minutes prior to the events in the video, I found an unfortunate soul tooling around in some nondescript system. Snatched these bad boys right out of him, and enjoyed myself immensely...

I think these piracy bugs have been around since the time they added peer to peer.

I don't know - everything else in the instance works fine. Ship damage, comms, no one disappears.

Hatchbreakers attach and siphon cargo, but no cargo comes out. I don't know that it's about networking.

Then again, the problems with core mining in a wing were apparent as soon as we started trying it.

Don't quote me on it, but if memory serves hatchbreakers came before the "wings update"
and ever since "wings" we had these issues.

There are a lot of issues with moving cargo between vessels. Even legally you can end up with ghost cannisters hanging around in space.

I've reported a wings communication bug a couple of times. I still can't see Wing messages in the comms box but can recieve direct and local.

The system does recieve them because Eddiscovery can read them out but they don't show up. It occours when Eddiscovery is uninstalled too so isn't that.

No answer on that bug either.

Have you tried any methodical testing, as in controlled hatch-breaking between willing parties, in case it's some coding oddity?

eg: maybe it's written to check which cargo rack to attach to, and then roll against the cargo in that particular rack. But if someone (in a tiny sidewinder) has only 1 cargo rack installed, and it's got some dodgy zero-based array and some bits are 1-based, so a single rack returns "no cargo". While a ship with 2+ racks would never hit this bug.

Just wondering if you could narrow down the issue by ship type, number of racks, or number of commodities? Is there any ship which never gets this, compared to a ship which has it happen more often?

I have not, but can report that it happens sporadically regardless of ship type. Has happened with multiple ship types.

Another example.

Un otro... only this time the resource siphons, but the cans don't register as cargo.
Maybe it is netwroking. I dunno. Dammit, Jim, I'm a pirate, not a scientist.
