Future of Elite+Paid For Content

Well, again, I find this as an enhancement. And as I said, if you don't feel the same, then I'm sorry for your loss.

Instead of a LOL, perhaps you could provide some constructive criticism in my post concerning the FSS and it's features over the original DSS.

I like the new FSS, I only have 2 criticisms:

1) It removes skill. The old system did not require much, but some knowledge of habitual zones and star classes was needed, to properly use the system map and not miss terraformable, or go chasing false leads by the plaent piccie.
2) SPeaking of Terraformable. Would be nice if it gave a clue.I think they still pay out more than normal versions of the planet type.

To be honest I am happy with either mechanic.

If I divide the many hours I played Elite by what I paid for it, it already is very close to Free-to-play.

Lets see :- 10 Weeks in game time = 1680 hours.
Price Paid :- £300 for the DDF Pack.
Value Per hour := 300 / 1680 = £0.1785

So let's round up to 18p per hour

Still enjoying it ? Yes.

Still Playing it? Yes.

Therefore best value game I've had so far.

What's your Value Per Hour?

:p

I could ask you the same thing.

Ah the old 'I'll throw it back on him' deflection.

They said there would be Free & Paid Content, now you'll forgive if I missed the release of the Paid Content. Maybe you can point me to it?

They said there would be Freighters. Again, point me to that will you?

The next big expansion is currently in development. In the meantime they are probably going to sell the mission packs. I also believe that this was the premium content originally planned for 2018.
Mission packs? Have I missed something here!? Not been as active here and in game while I play my games I got for crimbo.

Although this year I've mostly saved my vouchers for upcoming games luke The Outer Worlds.

I said 'lies' because I questioned what you called lies. There is no deflection happening on my part.

That would be a broken promise, not a lie. And it's probably not even that since they usually say something like 'no promises, no ETAs'.

Lying requires that you be untruthful on purpose.

I'll accept 'broken promise' in a context whereby it's announced at the start of the year, and then becomes not viable.

To post an announcement as late as October, and then renege on it is straight out lying to your player base.

Either way in my opinion, anything they [fdev] announce should be taken with a big grain of salt. <- The irony :)

Carriers and paid for content in 2018 (along with improved ice planets btw) were clearly communicated as scheduled within a certain timeframe.. So, yeah but no.. Absolutley not "no guarantees or ETA's whatsoever.

You always know who’s never seen the inside of a nuclear launch silo or submarine, or knows what’s actually involved in a real nuclear launch, but there is no “button”.

Just like the cake?

A common misconception as a euphamism - but thank you for your correction :)

No idea what mine is but it's going to be similarly cheap. It's why I've had no issue buying ship kits and paint jobs. I'm more than happy to have paid for expansions if it means more can be spent during development.

There were a few pretty bad bugs that slipped the net in the recent update. I wonder how much of this was due to resources being diverted to projects that would directly earn some money.

Where did you hear Planetary landings has been pushed back?
Link?
Not really sure what they have planned.

What I do know is 3305 was supposed to be the year for this, but it's been pushed back again and again...

And 2019 isn't the year for this either, so I guess I can't fault them too much. ;)

Hopefully whatever they plan really fleshes out the game dramatically.
