Greetings CMDRs,

browsing Coriolis for ship info I felt the urge to calculate few things. Here are the results.

Elite Dangerous ship count: 38

small ship count: 14 (36.84% total)
medium ship count: 15 (39.47 % total)
large ship count: 9 (23.68 % total)

As you can see, medium ship is the most occurring type, totaling almost 40% of all available. Small ship type is close after, large ship type is barely a quarter of available.

Cheapest ship is Sidewinder: 31 000 Cr
Most expensive is Imperial Cutter: 208 402 444 Cr

You need to have 6 722.66 Sidewinders to match Imperial Cutter value.

All ships cost: 1 342 960 578 Cr. 1 Billion 342 Million 960 Thousand and 578 Credits.
Average ship cost is: 35 341 067.84 Cr
Median is: 10 462 059 Cr (exactly half of ships cost more and exactly half of ships cost less)

Small ships we have 14 and they all cost: 13 239 668 Cr (0,99% total ships price)
Average small ship price is: 945 690.57 Cr
Median is: 434 844 Cr.

Medium ships we have 15 and they all cost: 412 198 669 Cr (30,69% total ships price)
It is also 2 905.8% increase compared to total price of all small ships.
Average medium ship price is: 27 479 911.27 Cr
Median is: 25 557 765.13 Cr

Large ships we have 9 and they all cost: 917 522 241 Cr (68,32% total ship price)
It is also 370.99% increase compared to total price of all medium ships and 6 930.1% increase compared to total price of small ships.
Average large ship price is: 101 946 915.67 Cr
Median is: 93 219 536.83 Cr

If you add small ships count and medium ships count they will be 3.2 times the large ship count.
If you add small ships value with medium ships value they will be 44.93% of the large ships value.

- medium ship count: 19 (52.77 % total)
- large ship count: 10 (27.77 % total)

I also have medium as most common, but large on second place.

Cheapest ship is my Bubble Transfer Hauler: 2 148 189 Cr
Most expensive is my AX Imperial Cutter: 1 122 123 392 Cr

I need to have 522.35 Bubble Transfer Haulers to match my AX Imperial Cutter value.

All ships cost: 5 824 991 542 Cr. 5 Billion 824 Million 991 Thousand and 542 Credits. Yikes :D

Average ship cost is: 161 805 320.6 Cr
Median is: 84 910 922 Cr (exactly half of ships cost more and exactly half of ships cost less)

How can median be lower than average if half the ships cost less and half cost more than median? Isn't that exactly what average means?

Average is 4.8
