Billions in Cash - nothing I could possibly do with them. Am I alone?

...and all despite never grinding them Credits.

I feel like I should.... *hmm*

- employ 120 NPCs that do my daily routine or just buzz around me for kicks or pure companionship
- rent a Farragut Class Capital Ship and use it to Hyperjump into random places into the Galaxy, then explore 100LY all around it just for fun
- buy a few more Federal Corvettes and put them into Mining/Exploration roles just for lulz (wait I can't... Garage is full since almost a year already, got 3 Vessels parked "out of town" due to Ship storage limitations)
- head over to the UC offices and buy an entire uninhabited System 500LY away to Terraform and Populate it?
- maybe build me a small, secret Extraction Empire 2500LY away with a dozen NPCs hauling my Hotspot precious back into Colonia or the Bubble to sell it?
.
.
.
- or realize I'll soon own 3... 4....5...7....10 Billion Cr in Cash I realize I have absolutely no use for at all?

Serious question : what's the point?

I'm getting close to that. I think it just means I don't need to worry about getting credits and I can have anything I want. I'm free to do anything I like in the game.

I'm kind of there having bought all the ships I want and having over 1B cr is spare change + expensive stored items like prismatic shields, its just one of the many glass ceilings in Elite.

At first it's cool ( having billions ). But when you have everything you want.. it tends to get a bit dull. I just jump in every now and then to poke around, and maybe try a new ship or build.

Triple Elite + Rear Admiral + Prince + multi-Billionaire = Idle Rich = Bored

The point is to see how rich you can get... No I'm joking, I agree, no point in going much past a billion, there should be things that make it worth it.

Drop some Opels out side a station buying them for 1.6m to help other players?

Oh tried that one in the past. Didn't work.

Last time I tried, I wanted to share a 35M Wing Mission. Guess what no takers. Noone even responded to Comms *shrugs*

I have nowhere near that, but I have more than I'll ever use for new ships (being a minimalist, I think I sell more ships than I buy, LOL). It did dawn on me that now I can do those "crazy things" with my more expensive ships and not have to stress about the rebuy any longer.

If I were still playing in Open, I'd go somewhere popular and jettison the most expensive cargo I could find - like when the queen used to throw coins to the peasants. It would be fun!

L2P ;) I always make sure I get rid of excess cash so I don't end up is this position. I thought only n00bs still thought CR mean anything in this game, the recent Opals rush makes me wonder...

No point. You won the game.

Or lost, depending on how you look at this :p

Yep its a real problem. As soon as i had everything i wanted, i stopped chasing credits when i had half bil in cash and now i have 3 bil that i don't have anything to spend on.

This spaceship game needs a lot more than 35 space ships with more stuff to buy for them and maybe some pre-engineered modules at high prices.
