Monorail Question - Connectivity (Linear vs Loop) and Location

Does it matter if a monorail is a linear with two terminal end points (say like the Victoria Line in London)? Or doe s it have to actually be connected in a loop in order for it to function and transport people properly from one end to another (more like the Circle Line, though it doesn't actually complete a full circle at Edgeware Rd.)?

Second question, is it worth having a station right near the main entrance? Normally I would think yes in real life, but since people are having to come in anyways to the park and they are going to go into the park regardless, I wasn't sure if this was something that was needed or not to place a monorail station near the entrance?

Yes it's totally needed to have a station close by the entrance, otherwise the transport rating will not go up much.

Both work, but I think linear tracks work better than loops

Thanks for the replies and I'll make sure to always have a station near the entrance and will only make loops when I can, but won't focus on trying to do so since it doesn't seem to affect anything. Which is what I was hoping as redoing all my monorails to be loops would not be fun...
