Hardware & Technical Elgato Key Creator

Having recently purchased the Elgato Stream Deck for Elite, it is a brilliant bit of kit. However, using the key creator is a tad tricky. Can anyone PLEASE advise me on how to change the font colour? I have tried everything, I’ve got the hang of creating tiles but I just cannot find out where the option or how to change the colour of the font?i know it’s not a biggee ..but I want things to be ‘spot on’ with my new gadget so please help if you can Cmdrs - Many Thanks

Had to google the thing :) I've had an idea to use one of those midi controller panels as an additional input method, and this looks very similar. Unfortunately can't help with your issue, but I'm curious now is it a midi controller or just usb plug and play type of thing?

Ok, so I bought one of these in the Black Friday Sales but actually had not got around to even connecting up yet! But your post piqued my interest. So i connected up.

Using the key creator at https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/keycreator , for me it was a simple case of typing the text (clicking the "add editable text icon" in the compose section) , clicking color in the inspector section and then chosing from the colour pallette (or entering the appropriate RGB values) and clicking ok. Then saving out the key via the button in the preview section (you may need to click off the selected text so it is not selected for the preview icon to update.

If you dragged the "text" icon to a button in the StreamDeck app, that is for entering precomposed text.

Edit:

If you are doing it via the Hotkey tile, click the dropdown to the right of the title:

you will then see the colour picker box bottom right in the drop out, click that and you can edit the colours.

Cheers Gurunot, brilliant help, however, I don’t have a palette at all. If I want green I have to type the word green in the inspector colour box (just found this out now)..so now I have colour choice but only basic colours...how did you get the palette to pop up in Key Creator please?

That was running Firefox 64.0 as my browser, I just literally clicked the box pointed to in that screenshot, I did have to allow elgato.com and ravenjs.com in NoScript. Are you running any script blocking software?

I tried Edge and that does things slightly differently, it gives a bunch of sliders to select you colour (Hue, Saturation and Lightness)

Yes people use them as game controllers. The software allows multiple profiles and a profile can be loaded automatically if an specific executable is running ie EliteDangerous64.exe

You can assign single or multi key presses to the buttons and put an icon of your choosing behind the button. Take a look at https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/437453-Icon-Pack-for-Elgato-Stream-Deck

Thanks! I might look at getting the mini a some point then. Possibly the full sized one. I'll have to investigate the physical dimensions first.

The 15 Button version has a separate stand the base area of which is approx 11cm x 9 cm ..

I bought the 15 Button version for £89.95 from Amazon on Black Friday, which is the MRP of the 6 button version. Amazon have sold the 15 Button version at £89.95 a couple of times as a mate bought one at that price back in the Summer. So if you are in no hurry it may be worth keeping an eye out for another sale.

Yes, good call. I hadn't even heard of this until seeing this thread.

I'm in no rush, so I'll bookmark it for now.
