I do missions during elections and INF goes to the opposition?

as far as i can tell influence is irrelevant during wars and elections (we have won 2 elections since the upgrade). My advice during election is take around 10-12 election related missions per commander per day - these are election data courrier and election liberation missions. when you hand them in take the cr option (the one on the left) and ignore any inf+++++ options as the influence doesnt matter in winning the election and seems to be just lost.

Good luck

very interesting! .... could be shared some more details please?

During Elections, mission complete screen does not mention influence for the Election System regardless of what the mission said when taking or claiming.

However, assuming is "doesnt count" is just an assumption. Could be that a +++ Inf is better than a + Inf, nobody has done testing on the new system because a) it is bugged b) we dont know what it is suppoed to do c) with only a binary Victory/Defeat each day, it is almost impossible to compare.

agreed, however, i have found that 10-12 cr missions works, which is actually the mopst important thing ;-)

Do you have opposition?

The new conflict tracking mechanic appears to focus more on per transaction than the strength of each action. So it appears accomplishing lots of little stuff counts more than those big rewards.

In my test system its just me.

To make matters even more confusing now the opposite happens :D So some days it works, while others it flips out in my test system.

Trog,
Can you remember my talking about results in Conflict Zones?? We are only EVER awarded Minor faction reputation points. These reputation points will decide results of war.

You are rightly talking about the correct missions to hand in for election contests and you are saying hand in 2+ Influence with 2+ Reputation. Can it, and this is a sensible question, can it actually be the reputation that influences the result?

I am very much Olde Skool and have been playing this game way too long and I am very much orientated for influence, influence, influence but even when doing combat type mission when experimenting for a war, I was NOT finding any 5+ Influence missions so thought what the heck and decided on 5+ Reputation but this also comes with 2+ of Influence?? Yes the missions easily won the daily slog, but it would be nice if we could be offered missions that only offered one type of reward, be that influence or reputation.

I guess it is going to be a challenge to figure this one out and I am still sitting on the wobbly fence.

Hi glojo, interesting thoughts. Just to clarify a couple of things:
1. Did you win the War each day by just completing missions? (i.e. no bounties, bonds or CZ-fighting at all)
2. Did you only take 5+ Rep missions, or also lower Rep missions as well?
3. Were you only taking specifically war-themed missions? (i.e missions that mentioned the war in the text description)

Excellent questions and the most important one that is not asked is did I monitor through traffic :) :)

In answer to my question YES.. Just me and an Asp doing our tick run

Your questions

1. ONLY war related missions. I was using two systems as experiments one CZ one missions, no bonds, bounties nor any CZ fighting
2. No, Yes :) I also took lower rep missions but tried to go for 5+, some assassination missions offered lower rep, likewise Blackbox missions.
3. see above :) ONLY war related

I think in fairness to all of us, every mission I took always had 2+ of Influence and yes each day our result would go up one increment. I am quite a busy chappie and once I get to Victory, I sit back and monitor.

If other folk help with these experiments then please, please, please monitor through traffic. I have personal knowledge of one player assuring us there was no through traffic but when I went to the relevant system, I jest not when it showed in excess of 300 ships passing through in the last 24hrs??? Was there a football match taking palce??? But seriously if we are unsure of how to check for this traffic then please ask. I always tell folks, the only dumb question you might have is the one you do not ask. We are all most definitely still learning.

I thought perhaps the reference in a CZ regarding reputation was a glitch or bug, but we are witnessing lots of rolling repairs by the developers and the reference to reputation is still there. I am definitely NOT saying reputation is now the new influence. I simply do not know and do not really know how to get an answer.

For us any war-related missions generally offer far more reputation than influence. I am guessing there might, just might be the odd mission that might offer more influence but rumour has it my memory is not what it once was :) and whenever i look at the number of war specific missions they always tend to be reputation orientated.

I wish I could help with any experiments but sadly I am committed with other issues.

Good luck
John
