Weird. I've just been listening to the original intro music on different computers on YouTube. Amiga one is probably the best. Unless you consider a synth plugged into a PC to be acceptable, then that's the best. :p

I too think this version needs speeding up. It also sounds like he's trying too hard. It's good quality though. I just prefer the original.

Someone on here suggested before that they should remake the FE2 intro theme for the Planetary Landings Expansion demo when they release it. I reckon that would be awesome!

I played on the A1200 so my memories relate directly to that, I was disappointed when I got it for PC and the sounds were different.

In addition to the theme, if they don't remake the FE2 intro video in E: D I'm throwing the teddy right out when planetary landings comes :D

Hell yes. It would be perfect. When I was watching the videos earlier I got all moist thinking about it being remade. :D

Nice! the First Encounters Version would have had that stuck note throughout the whole thing....

Has a bit of Star Trek The Motion Picture feel to it.

I think it could do with speeding up just a tiny smidge, but it brings back so many memories!

This song and the accompanying intro sequence excited me (11 years old when I got bought the game in '95) so much, ALL I ever wanted was an imperial courier!

Jamie is a backer of ED, he posts on here sometimes.

I really like it, and would love him to do a 1st encounters theme reimagining also.

The worst bit for me about the FFE intro was the lack of timing. The song ends well before the 'story' is done. The timing in FE2 is waaay better.

Yeah haha the song ending right before the Thargoid showing up and cleaning house was always really funny to me, that and how chipper and upbeat it was considering the intro was supposed to be very catastrophic... sort of Star Trek Voyager gone really bad type of thing.
