Beta Purchase

Ok, I'm going to go for it, but want to make sure the beta purchase will be a digital download, not media sent by mail.

Also, if it's a download, is it reasonably quick with a fast internet connection?

Digital download. Not excessively long. DO IT!

download speed depends on how busy the servers are, right after a major release it can be slow going but right now you should be good.

Download is about the same as a modern game on Steam or Origin. If you can download those without starting to whimper and chewing on your keyboard, you will do fine with downloading the data for Elite: Dangerous.

Beta 1.04 released last night is unplayable, based on feedback. So do not be surprised. This should be resolved very, very soon

I thought it was good to prevent to avoid a anger. This does not prevent to buy the beta, since the problems will be resolved very quickly.
