Fancy a bit of PvPiracy.

Do you think I'd be best to target the sell systems rather than the source systems?

It would be nice to imagine how a pirate in a cold ship sneaks up to an unsuspecting player, who is mining away in a belt-cluster, under cover of rocks, disabling the miners point defense with a spectacular salvo of cytos followed by pack hounds. The mini-explosions would be reflecting on the icy surface of the rocks. Then a barrage of hatch-breakers go about their business and the pirate spams the radio with his gritty speech as the collectors fill his cargo with the deep black opals and the miner is trying to flee into the deep of the belt, but can't because the thrusters are failing him after a surgical rail strike.

I don't know if it's even possible to locate a player in mining hot-spot in a belt though.

Remember not to get too discouraged and bloodthirsty when they log on you, and hatch break em ASAP. Vanishing player with a few void opals floating around is always better than just empty space.

That's the plan. Fortunately I'll have a relatively small hold so I only need 3/4 tonnes for me to consider it a good haul.

YMMV

And despite them bringing in 100s of millions a load, a lot of the miners you see out there really love to log.

It's astounding, really.

I purchased the Pirate pack yesterday. Can't decide which colour to use.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Man I feel evil!

Was skulking a system which was also being patrolled by a bounty hunter in their Cutter.

I spotted a Python and had a hunch he was a miner. Scan confirmed this.

Interdicted the Python, and fired off a hatch breaker.

Oh man... This boi knew how to mine, I'll give him that, but he didn't have a clue on flying defensively. He didn't submit for a start. Obviously thought my lil' Cobra was no threat... Imagine the rude shock when I made him leak all that tasty cargo?!

All those opals, all that alexandrite... Gone! Haha!

I only managed to pick up one unit sadly, because aforementioned Cutter bounty hunter dropped in, yes CMDR, and started making a turn on me. I decided to ram the cargo I couldn't secure, and jumped to a new system promptly. I wasn't going to risk that unit of opals for his sake.

Going to sell tomorrow. It's getting late, and in PvP, I get loud because VoiceAttack. Loads of orders barked tonight.

All in all, very happy. Very memorable experience.

Oh, one last thing...

To the Captain of the Cutter... If you happen to read this, you're really calling me the coward when you're the one in the safe-as-heck shield tank while I'm flying a no shield booster Cobra Mk III who had the audacity to interdict a Python, in your presence I might add?

Git gud, because I'm now a rich coward.

Fun, isn't it?

True story: used my piracy clipper to sell some void opals and took some limpets withe me to the station. Sold the opals and on leaving the station, saw a conda and fired a hatchbreaker at it before it could enter the station. I recieved a hatchbreaker from the conda in return that emptied my hold of limpets...

memo to self: check configuration of the target.

Hell yeah it's fun! Until you keep seeing the collection limpets bringing in cargo and your cargo hold is still void of anything but the limpets.... I don't know if they fixed that last patch but I didn't see it in patch notes and have video of that happening in November.

Guess it helps that I don't use collectors. I could, but that'd mean only 16T cargo, not 20T.

So you never had that problem??? Good-buy collectors [noob]

I fly a Cobra Mk III. Honestly collectors are a waste on that ship unless you're strip mining.

I just go manual.

Yes I probably would have picked up more cargo with a collector today, and I may just use one next time.

But there's something fun picking up cargo yourself whilst being peppered by a Python's laser turret.

And truly, are we all not doing this for the fun? :)

It's been fixed, aye. No more vanishing cargo even if it's original owner goes missing :)
