Just lost 3 days worth of gameplay...Grrr

I can't believe what has just happened.

For the past 3 or so days, every night I have been grinding my trade backwards and forwards from I Bootis and Aulin making a meager profit. Slowly but surely I had been turning over a 500CR run into a 1500CR run with the transition from trading Agri-meds over to Progenitor cells. I could see a light at the end of the tunnel when Bam! I make the jump from Aulin to I Bootis and crash in to the space port at the other end! All my cargo has gone along with my hard earned investment. I just don't have the spirit in me to start over again with just 5000CR. I would have thought the insurance would have covered my stock! It never said so I presume it's lost. I hit the free Sidewinder option and am staring blankly at the screen. The idea of making all those trips again is not my idea of having fun so I think I'm going to wait for the general release when the account is wiped anyway...

Any suggestions feel free

I feel for you... I'm willing to bet every commander on the board has gone through it. I know I have several times.

If I were you, I'd take the free Sidey and go out to one of the conflict zones and blow stuff up, maybe take a few pew-pew-pew contracts to work on the combat skills that likely atrophied while you were grinding.

You lost your ship but you still have the game that you paid for, and there's plenty of stuff to do in it. :)

Also, finding yourself in a new Sidey, I invite you to try your hand at interstellar racing. There's a class specific for Sidewinders, and it's a great way to hone your piloting skills. Hop on over here and give it a spin!

Insurance doesn't cover stock and game never says so. Taking all money into stock you risk everything - and that's what game is about. It is risk versus reward.

I've been through that. Just start small and keep going lol.

That's almost exactly what I was going to suggest. You need a wee change of pace for a while I think just until the hunger for trading returns and you can start afresh with some enthusiasm. Your pain will subside my son. Be strong.

Go over the the anarchy next to Eranin and salvage for gold and stuff at the signal sources. Less boring and more fun than trading in a sidewinder. And more money.

If you see me in game in an hour or two I might be able to drop a few gold for you. It's only about 18k credits for 4 but you do that at Freeport a couple times and you would be back on track! See ya!

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, it's not all bad. I think your right about shooting a few things up for a bit of a change. I have learned a valuable lesson for when the final game is released.

Cheers

Welcome to the Elite Pancake club :D

I really feel for you, I had a couple of rough moments like that in premium beta.
That's the entire reason I'm not playing beta properly, I just pop on a couple of times a week and try playing with different things.
I'm not interested in it as a game until Gamma release now, plus I don't want to burn out.

If you want to try and earn some money in combat go to Eranin. There are a variety of Low and High Intensity Conflict Zones at Eranin 2, 3, 4 and 6 as well as the Federal Distress Signal (Eranin 2). Pick Eranin as your faction and don't get too greedy and "stay for just one more" - leave once you have a few thousand credits in bounties and cash them in at the station.

Gold farming at LP 98-132: drop at the USS's until you find some gold, scoop and go to Freeport to sell on the black market. Boost and super cruise out if anyone drops in on you at a USS. Transit to Freeport can be made safer by going solo (and before I get a flood of posts decrying this, I have never, and will never, play solo myself but I would defend the right of any player to use it if they are getting back on their feet after a loss that was not their fault).

Alternatively take on some delivery missions and see the beta universe.

Good luck, whatever you choose!

Been there several times! Grind gold near freeport until you have enough for insurance and your dream ship. Take a hauler, two to three runs of gold (16t) give you a very good start.

I bought a viper then and tested combat and the weapons out. Trading animal meat from agri-systems like wyrd and other ones is quite lucrative for trading btw.

Couple of questions on this....

If we pick up gold that we found...it is considered stolen in the system. There lies the reason we need freeport black market to sell it correct?

Isn't Freeport an Anarchy system? and the likely hood of being pirated is extremely high?

Also won't the station scan us and see that the gold is 'stolen' and kill us right there outside the station?

Thanks

You could go to a non-anarchy system, but then you have to know how to bypass the cops.

^this^

As this current build can be frustrating to new players I also suggest going solo to get back on your feet, unless you wanna practice being cannon fodder.

Farm some gold and explore the new planets, learn where some trading in space Lacon9s appear, as they can be helpful sometimes to sell stolen canisters of goodies found in space.

Explore all the available systems, check out the different planets, stars, space station designs, fly through them, around them. Take a slower pace, you don't have to grind as we are about to get wiped anyway at some point. Take your time to learn the systems and how the trade works between different economies.

Once you have a better idea of the mechanics, it will be faster to get new ships. That way you will be better prepared for the wipe.

Good luck!

Correct, Freeport = Pirates and everywhere else = Death. What you should get is an armed escort into those places, could be fun :D

I think there are other Freeports in game, sure I've seen one on my travels.

If you see me in game, hit me up.. I'm usually hanging around the main system.

And how to bypass the cops is... silent mode?

What are the 'tricks of the trade' ?

An armed escort?? And how do we pay...drop a canister or two of gold in exchange ? That would be so kewl to do!!
