Alien archaeology and other mysteries: Breaking News, Theories and Tinfoil Hattery

True!

Are we making the assumption that the Zurara visited the Heart and Soul Nebula? The distance between there and the Dynasty sites is roughly 800ly. This might not mean much at all as it could have done multiple jumps. We might not know for sure until we find more sites or beacons between H&S and the Zurara.

Edit: I wish there was a tool in the map that let us measure distances between 2 chosen stars easily.

I'm sure if you're hyperdicted out there you'll let us know!? ;). (one of the dynasty logs strongly indicate that, although that was ~35 yrs ago).

Hmm, well 1 of the Dynasty logs said they did, but AFAWK that was of the conda's sent out there..... although originally the Zurara was a conda, so maybe!
There is at least 1 website you can use to calculate distances between systems, I use spansh.co.uk (ED index plotter), .... which means I don't need to guess the above!

Ok, so from the Zurara to Eafots EU-R c4-1 it's 4004 LYs! That's much further than I thought!!
To Eafots LZ-H b10 4011 LYs, Eafots RA-G B11-0 4016 LYs, & Eafots GL-Y e2 3994 LYs.

So the latter is the nearest one, but it's a HUGE area to search! lol

Re the Zurara's jump range, what Thatchinho said is right, we have no idea really (AFAIK), I wouldn't worry about it though......

If it helps, a few exerts of the Zurara's journey from Drew Wagers Premontion :-
'Formidine meant ‘terror’ in some ancient old Earth language, according to
his science officer. Nice. A course was plotted outwards from the core worlds
to the edge of the Perseus galactic arm
;....'

'But we weren’t the only ones going out there, so it seems.
A few very discreet inquiries had informed him that several other ships
had been requisitioned at the same time. All big ships, mostly Anacondas. All
stripped and fettled for long distance, long duration travel. A massive fleet
of ships, unmarked,....'

Where they are, is where the last 'package' (beacon & possibly terraforming equipment) was deployed, they had plotted a route home from there, but just after that is when they lost power.

Seeing as no beacon or any equipment has been found in the Zurara's system, it doesn't bode well for finding it elsewhere, the beacons are either de-activated (& virtually impossible to find??) or are simply not in the game :(.

I wonder if anyone did a bug report for the Zurara's system not having a URCB as discussed a few pages back?.......

Has FDev said there is still anything to be found out here? I wouldn't want this to be a wild goose chase.

AFAIR they haven't said anything about it (correct me if I'm wrong anyone!)

Btw, I've updated my previous post with more info.

Almost every system i've visited since getting to the Zurara has already been explored so this area is well travelled, that doesn't mean things haven't been missed. In the other thread about Raxxla, they have been talking about Cupid's Arrow in the NGC 7822 nebula pointing at H&S but it actually doesn't point directly at it.

Is it possible that the Zurara is out here also searching for Raxxla? Or setting up bases for those who killed them to have a "beachhead" in the Rift to work from in search of it? I may be talking out of my here btw.

Cupid's arrow actually points close to where the Zurara is therefore I've arbitrarily chosen an area near the Zurara that is in a line with Cupid's Arrow to search.

The red circle is my chosen area, the green is the Zurara.

Don’t remember FD ever giving us a solid hint that there is/isn’t stuff to find in any specific storyline/area of space
other than “Raxxla has been in-game from the outset” “but you don’t know what it is” and “it’s a little bit obvious”.

I personally don’t think Zurara has anything to do with Raxxla, which according to lore should be in/near the human bubble. Cupid’s Arrow is, I believe, built from RL star measurements with precise RA/DEC data but imprecise distance so I suspect you’re on a hiding to nothing there. But it’s worth running fss and mapping on all systems expanding around Zurara’s position. At the very least you’ll get megacredits and boost your exploration level.

Yea I'm not aware of the Zurara, or the Dynasty project having anything to do with Raxxla either. None of the their logs hint at it, nor TOW Rebecca or DWs Premonition.

Founders World/Galnet is Raxxla...think of it Galnet has all the data on everything even pirate news so void from reports yet they know about it, they even post up things that they have written out that haven't even happened yet from time to time but nail it 100%...seems like galnet(Raxxla Technology) is time travel and used by Pilot federation/Darkwheel within Founders world (Which contained the wheel in which the tech was found)...think about it Humanitys invention of "The Wheel" is an Aliens invention of "Future News" technology............

Yes I know...space madness...But i was once an adventurer like you until i took onion head to the knee.......by an unknown probe...THEY ARE REAL OUT THERE I AM TELLING YOU!!

Just for giggles, and slightly random... I went ahead and created (and destroyed) a series of Squadrons supporting factions of interest whom I'm allied with. This was inspired by the fact they used a squadron aligned with Pleiades Resource Enterprise in a livestream, which revealed this little gem (though it's nothing we didn't know already)

- Wreaken Industries is just in known systems... so at the very least there aren't any assets held by them in Col 70 Sector despite their operations.
- League of Reparation is still in the game, though in a weird state. Opening this system on the galaxy map leads nowhere:

This all precurses the fact I'm about to make a squadron aligned with Nova Imperium... but if there's other factions you think might be useful to tap, let me know.

Hey everyone! Does anyone know what is the average jump range, minimum and maximum of Thargoids as they advance forward. I ask so that we know the limits of their jump/withspace drives.

As a modern day military would not exploit the ability to appear anywhere they wanted. The Thargoids "slow" advance tends to show their is a definite limitation to what they can do. Along with that limitation there will also (or should) also have a center of gravity (re-fuel/re-arm) they need to be able to access...

Have you tried: CIEP? EFP? The Club? :)

Might be more appropriate in the Thargoid thread.
However you may be confusing ability and intent. We don’t know why they do what they do, or why their invasion is so slow. It may be that they aren’t really interested in invading human space, just protecting their barnacles and abandoned(?) surface sites. Maybe they really are Oresrian goids and currently training humanity to fight the Klaxian goids who they’re at war with & who may be some way off yet. Maybe it’s all an obfuscated plot by AEGIS/INRA for their own nefarious ends using technology that Palin invented.... the tinfoil is thin this morning.

The Club aren't a faction, and you can only align a squadron to a faction you are allied with. So The Dark Wheel could be an option, and EFP would only get the local branch, if you even could since they aren't really a functional faction.

I'm pretty sure I'm already allied to the Pilot's Fed local branch, and they weren't on the list.

If Thargoids are purposely moving slow through our bubble which is away from their barnacles... If they are helping train is to fight the Malaysians.... Then they are the dumbest most evolved species in the galaxy.

With the technology to appear and disappear wherever they want, there is no reason for them to have a 1900 century advancing front line. Warfare doesn't work like that anymore, much less with the advanced technology of the future.

A slow advance so that they could train us means that they have somehow mutually accepted to sacrifice their resources and bodies/ships in order to "train" us. Somehow I think there is... I don't know at least 10 other methods on how they could be helpful.

If they are looking for something, they sure are going oddly about it and that something better be worth it for all the losses they have taken.

If they are running away from something, they sure are going slow about it, and if so... Where are the chasers?

No, I don't buy it. Like everything else in life the Thargoids magical portals have a limit. What ever they are doing. We should be aware of what it is. Even if they are coming out of the shadowplane, their seems to be a limitation.
