General / Off-Topic Pulp Fiction was a great movie...

Pulp Fiction was a fantastic film, stylish in every way when it came out. Reservior Dogs owns all though :)

Apart from films already mentioned I really enjoyed the Kill Bill duology as well as Death Proof.

His films express how Tarantino loves cinema. I do like Kill Bill as well, but get a bit confused by the black-and-white fight scene. It seems like a stylistic choice with the benefit to please the censors at first but then you realise that the scene exists in a colour version (released in Japan i think).

Agreed. All these amazing films. Makes me kind of think about Tarantino now.
Almost makes me wish he'd stop filming. To avoid that "last film by a great filmmaker that is kind of crap but everybody tolerates it out of respect" situation that so many great directors of the past fell into.

I think until very recently he still said he will do 10 movies only. That's it.
However, it's kind of hard to believe. This guy is the biggest movie nerd in Hollywood, there's no two ways about it. Every time he speaks about film you know this man breathes cinema. Wonder if he will find a way to keep the promise, but still kinda stay in business...like become a producer only. Or perhaps an actor? Oo

The scene in the bar is one of the best scenes filmed in my view. The tension it created in the viewer was unbelievable.

That is his specialty.
In the age of overdosed CGI animations and over-the-top storylines, whispering actors (for dramatic effect), the substance Tarantino can create out of simple conversations and situations, with good (voice acting) actors, is just fantastic.

And of course the absurdity of some twists. From Dusk till dawn is simply hilarious.

Agreed on Kurt. Big Trouble in Little China, the Thing, and Escape from New York are some of his best.

Agreed. All three of those movies are great. I also liked Breakdown, executive decision. He did the voice of Elvis in Forrest Gump, Overboard is a good comedy. Some great comedy, some good thrillers and great action movies.

Totally agree on these. You know what tho', even the christmas thing he did for Netflix recently (Christmas Chronicles) was pretty good and he was awesome in it. And yup, no argument on the title of this thread. I think my favourite movie with Tarantino's stamp on it tho' is True Romance. One of my absolute all-time favourite movies and the scene with Walken and Hopper is one of my all-time favourite scenes. Just beautiful.

I have it on good authority that he totally lost it when he found out the cast was trying to work with the props people to make fake, meatless stew, during the filming of Hateful Eight.

Passion!

I liked Pulp fiction but my taste about movies isn't really great.
