Powerplay Merits gone ?

Last Monday I winged up and went out combat Merit farming for Li Yong-Rui, after a bit I had 810 merits in my transactions panel. I was told that I had I had to wait till the Power tic on Thursday to get my merits registered. Wednesday night I looked and by Transactions panel was empty. Now Friday I don’t see any credit for the merits. Where did they go ?

They do go down at the end of each cycle, you have to keep doing stuff to keep them at the levels they were

first of combat merits you have to cash in at "owned" system of your power at the power contact, did you do that before Thursday. If you die before "cashing in" Merits are gone. You will see the cashed in merits at your powerplay screen.

At the tick the go down by halfe the merits you have. So best farm before 1 day of tick to week 4 if you wanna get the weapons.

So shurley you can blame your mates for not telling to cash in sore for your lost.

if you don't cash in by Tick over then do you lose them.

Edit.
Didn't turn merits before tick..... My Bad
Didn't know, now i do.

Normal bonds and missions don't have time limit to turn in

Cash in any merits at Control Systems. To see these go to your map, click the Powerplay filter and select 'Control'. The big blobs at the centre of the bubbles that pop up will be them. They are labelled as well.

This can be a useful thing.

The tactic is called a "Merit Snipe"
Get your CMDRs together and collet a huge amount of combat merits.
Cash them in at the last minute before the opposing power has time to react by fortifying those systems.

The atack doesn't show up until the merits are cashed in.

There is also now a station report that details stored snipe merits, so this tactic is more limited these days.
