Look at the kill count link. Look at the CMDR names that performed all of the kills. Ask any commander on that list who they were working for, including Harry Potter. This exercise should dispel any misunderstanding you currently have regarding who is in control.

I don't understand you people that destroy defenseless explorers. We are out there enjoying the sights and you waste time just to try to ruin our fun, for absolutely no benefit. It makes 0 sense. Fighting targets that can fight back in equal terms sounds reasonable, but this is just pointless.

They have a perfect roleplaying explanation. You are leaving the bubble in state of war with aliens and in most countries in the RL world, deserting in state of war is punishable by death. They are roleplaying just like you.

Oh really? So, given that the US is nearly always involved in armed conflict somewhere, does that mean that it's legal to shoot any non-armed forces personnel leaving the US for a vacation?

I and some of my closest advisers, have publicly stated, numerous times, the many reasons that motivated the attack. And those reasons have always been summarily dismissed or ignored. Hundreds of ships could have been spared if people would have simply listened to our concerns. I can't be bothered to repeat them here yet again, and frankly there is little reason to believe they will receive any better response.

Pilots Federation commanders only respond to violence. Logical reasoning does not resonate with most of them. And that is how we got where we are today.

C'mon, admit it, your rw analogy was as poor as it gets - desertion only applies to actual members of a nations armed forces who desert the field of battle. DW2 explorers aren't even guilty of being AWOL, because they don't need anyone's permission to go anywhere.
