I wanna marble and solid gold bathroom in my Cutter.
I know this is going to be controvertial, but i just don't see the point of credits any more. Players can go from sidewinder to anaconda in a week. Money is so easy to make, rebuys are a joke.
There's your answer - don't remove credits, remove rebuys. Surely all the insurance companies have gone out of business by now.
Remove rebuys as in your ship is blown to pieces and you aren't getting it back?
FD have tried that in the past. Playerbase went up in arms about it. How dare FD touch their precious credits!
It's too late to do much about the inflation, but what FD *can* do is introduce credits sinks.
One man's credit sink is another man's grind
The currency for this game is time.
So while there's clearly a demand for easy games, there's also a demand for more complex ones though you'll (almost) never see that requested in a gaming forum.
Yeah I picked up the game in June 2018 and I put over 500 hours into it. I can say that I never did any credit exploits or even grinding passenger missions. I have ~1.5-1.8 bil in assets and 236 mil in liquid credits. I think the current pace is fine. There are ways to make money that are fast, some are slow, but i feel like there is enough tools for a CMDR to scheme ways to make credits.
The "sidewinder to conda in 50 hours" argument misses the point that a person just starting the game has no clue what they are doing. Early on, I got myself a great DBE for exploration and set off for Colonia with a stack of data missions knowing I would be able to get a Challenger when I got back. Not the easiest way to get credits but it worked for me.
Not to be that guy, but I am thinking that a lot of the "credits are meaningless" types are the same people that grind exploits. TLDR- No, keep credits
