So I got a bit carried away.... Swapping booster for cargo Rack, a grading the controller, grabbing an a abrasion thing and oooh..... C5 slot with SRVs I'm not using.... Swap em out.

Luckily, I realised I had hit exchange instead of store pretty much immediately and bought it back....the FSD booster too :/ All good, right?

The hangar is empty. Apparently the SRV's get dissolved before the hangar is removed and reprint powder is jettisoned to space. So refitting the hangar does not get back your SRV's.

So be smart. Don't be like Disorganise. He's a bit stupid :(


I did find you can shoot the surface mats without a prospecting limpet. Didn't help since they were coltan, but it is possible.

I stored my SRV bay and SLF hanger to go mining. Just refitted them as I'm done with the mining, all good. Need to re-apply the livery, but the fighters and SRVs were still inside.

So, one vote for, one against :)

That's a bit misleading... you didn't "store" your SRV hanger and then the SRVs were missing when you refit it, you sold it then rebought a replacement. Sorry, that one's on you, no bug there.

Yes,but you sold the hanger & contents.They re-fitted a new hanger.Lesson learned.Thanks for the tip on prospectors.Just been looking into fitting out a miner and was wondering if they are necessary. Vrep+1.

If you can fit a prosector limpet controller, do think about it - not only does it make finding the right materials faster (especially high concentration asteroids), it also increases how much you get from an asteroid. Sure, you can simply shoot each asteroid and see what pops off, but you'll have no idea if the concentration on Indite is 5% or 50%, or if the material yield is low, medium or high. Prospectors make hunting specific material much faster.

If you stored, rather than sold as the OP did - well, I just had the same thing. So I went in, and clicked on the SRV slots in outfitting. It told me there were SRVs there (I have two), I went back out of outfitting and they'd suddenly appeared. Seems there is a small bug there. But your SRVs do still exist, there just seems to be an issue in them being automatically refitted.

Well, in any case i need to contact support. I recommend the same for all who has the issue.

No-one said bug except you. I know I stuffed up and am just letting others know to not repeat it.

I stored my hangar, and all SRVs were still intact. There are, however, no SRVs at the station, so the red "no stock" text did confuse me briefly....

Great, so that's two confirmations that store and retrieve works. Assume Henkka did the same as me.... I genuinely thought I stored the booster, but realised I stuffed the vehicle hangar.

Changed title accordingly :)

Uh oh.. i think i need to double check if my SRVs are still there. When i saw that "no stock" text i figured i dont have SRVs with me.. :eek:

I've always had SRVs and Fighters disappear any time I bring their hangars out of storage and mount 'em. , which is why I swapped an AFMU for my refinery at Omega, instead of my SRV bay.

I imagine it could have changed at some point since I last did it, since there have been a few patches, but I usually figure why risk it? It was a faff each time I've had to go through setting up the livery on the new ones again.

If only we had some tool that could pop some reminder :)
Maybe nominate a build as "explorer" or "miner" and have it pop as you depart "you're in your miner build".....no worries, I'm mining/oops, best I do swap.
