Blue Mapped Effect Needs A Toggle/Option/Timed

Exploration has a lot of things going for it, but probably the most important is the beauty of the worlds we are exploring.

Please give players an option to do something about the blue mapping effect. I'm not sure what it offers me (yes, I can see terrain features on dark sides of the planets) but I'd like to be able to do something about it. Yes, I can switch to combat mode, but that seems... unnecessary.

I suppose it lets you know which planets have been mapped, but that information would be much more useful in the targeted tab or the locations menu.

Whatever the solution, how it works now is not ideal, IMO. The blue effect is unpleasant and minimally useful.

+1

A partially mapped planet should remain blue until mapped.
But a fully mapped planets blue effect should fade after 30 seconds or so, and be replaced with a "mapped" tag in the bottom left panel. Which also doubles up as showing you if you've already mapped it.

Another option would be to allow us to use the DSS in combat mode. I actually switch to combat mode while in the DSS screen, which disables the DSS, but it also turns off the "blue matrix planets" out my window. However, it's a pain to have to reactivate analysis mode in order to use DSS again (during which time we are exposed to those fake blue planets).

ps - I do not mind at all that the planets glow while using the DSS, because I picture that as a console on my ship, which is very different than looking out the window.
