Am I ever going to hear station greetings again?

Request docking.
*BLEEP* then nothing. Is there even a mumble of a voice anymore?

Sure would like to hear the station communications again, but it's been so long now, I doubt it's going to happen.

Hmm, I'm certain I still hear loads of station nonsense... greeting, request granted and pad number, comments on my speed, distance to pad, etc.

You don't get the greeting at outposts (it has never been available there) but they are still present at stations. (I'm not sure but it even sounded like there might be a new voice or two in the mix... ?)

I've been using 5.1 speakers since day 1, and lost the station greetings a long time back.
The rest of the chatter, yes like when I enter the station, but the prelim greeting is almost inaudible.
The only time I hear a bit is when I'm at a dead stop over a planetary base, specifically palin.
Regular stations though? Nope.

I guess it's me.
So if I go and fiddle with the audio settings, night time, etc., is a restart required before the changes kick in?

Im sure i used to get a robot voice from outposts. Been a while tho..

Don't think so, can change the audio any time. With the new audio options you can increase npc comms higher than base level, for example. But station greetings are definitely still there.

I think the robot voice was only at Engineering bases, Outposts didn't have any.

Pretty sure I'm getting ATC voices as before, though perhaps not all of them. I thought I used to hear unique conversations if I was Allied etc, but haven't heard those in a while.

Not only do stations greet me, but there's this one particular Imperial Space Traffic Controller with a sexy voice who has been flirting with me lately. I accidentally overshot the landing pad when she invited me to the bar for drinks!

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

You're frequenting different stations than I. :D

Im definately sure i got a robot voice from an outpost but it also had a big pirate symbol on it so i dunno if thats relevant. Was some time ago tho cause i been in my conda for a while.

Greetings etc are definitely still there at all stations except outposts. Voices vary depending on Fed/Imp/Alliance/indy etc.. Robotic voices are from engineering bases. Some custom ones like the Canon Megaship & Obsidian Orbital, they have even added new voices with the last update.

Check the NPC voice comm slider. I use night time to give my subwoofer some extra kick.

I had this problem a while ago - it was related to the surround sound settings on my sound card.
I can't remember the exact details, but the station announcements were coming on a channel that my card/speakers wasn't playing - with 5.1 selected I got no announcements, but without surround I got them (but the rest of my output was crappy). I was about to head out exploring so I just left it at 5.1 and forgot about it.

I had a similar problem. No traffic control sound, no firing sound in the SRV (unless in turret mode) and some other sounds missing.

Turned out that all the missing sounds where for the center speaker of my 5.1 system and I had accidentally switched it to stereo mode. As a result it simply ignored the center speaker and subwoofer sounds completely.
I think it might potentially be the result of some changes to sound in 3.3 - or maybe not.

Not sure if that's the problem you have, but I think it's worth checking out.

I had my problem with 3.2.
