Never give up with friends around - The power of Community

Hi guys,

the strangest, funniest and most amount of fun i have had just happened to me in-game:

I was off to the meeting point in Omega Planet 7B, landed at Geo site 5 to see if anyone was about. I got into my buggy and thought i would register the geo site, but didn't realize i was zooming towards a cliff edge until i was floating in the air and tumbling into a huge hole. After doing many many 360's i ended upside down. For 5 mins i tried any way i could to get out. Nothing worked, reversing, boosting, forward boosting....nothing.

So i shouted out to the Squadron to see if somebody could help. I didn't know how they could of helped but i thought i would try. I had a few comments about logging out and reloading in non horizon mode, but i didn't want to give up just yet. As far as i knew i was stuck in a hole with a lot of determination. I saw a few Asps flying about above me, then all of a sudden one of them spotted me. He was in the Fleetcomm Squadron, the same as me, so i was sure he know as i was chatting on Sqn feed.

Here comes Cmdr Nero82. I asked if he could try to give me a bump and shove to assist in me getting out. I don't know how but he managed to get that fat Asp into that hole and gave me a nudge. I was then able to use the thruster to jump about hoping to get out of that hole. about 15 mins we were thrusting, bumping and squeezing but to no avail. Eventually i managed to get out of said hole and onto some kind of ridge. by then there were about 6 to 10 ships in the area looking to see what all the commotion was about.

Into the right of stage comes Cmdr Mickey Shades in his Anaconda. Also we had an SLF from Cmdr Distant Winter trying to give me little nudges and kisses and i managed to land on top of him. I pretty much fell off as soon as he moved. Mickey had

the idea of trying a piggy back with a bigger platform and you cant get any bigger than the flat top of an Anaconda. So "Cmdr Mickey, flatten yourself out and let my drive onto you"

He did that and on i went with a bit of acrobatics. I realized that as he moved my buggy stayed stationary. I had to drive with him as he maneuvered out of the canyon and onto the flat to get to my ship. this we both achieved with Mickey's precise flying and my twitchy driving. I don't think many in this game can say they have been on the top deck of an Anaconda in their buggy flying about.

Thank you to Commander Nero82 for trying to get me out of that hole and scratching up your pretty Asp and thank you to Cmdr Mickey Shades for letting me use your Anaconda as an aircraft carrier and flying me to safety. But most of all thank you for the community we have in DW2. Yes i could of easily logged into my ship and gotten myself a new buggy, but we then wouldn't of seen the amazing teamwork we can all achieve together.

Fly safe commanders and especially my knights in white ships....

These are the kind of stories that made me want to join DW2 in the first place having read and watched (via streams and YouTube) many tales from DW and other expeditions.

Glad to hear you got out and more importantly had some fun doing it with everyone who turned up.

Rep for sticking with it too, no logging needed with the Squadron Comms.

I am very much a lone wolf type explorer, but I find compelling exception for these sort of expeditions. And with that being said, others and their compelling perspectives within the void of the mind killer certainly do make the effort more compelling.

Sorry if this logic is a bit redundant or circular – I'm drunkish again. But... I love you... ;)

I hope somewhere someone took video of you riding that Anaconda out to safety. It's like watching them pull a horse from a well. :)

Is this a thing? Have never seen a horse being pulled from a well, and I've seen some crazy stuff in my day in the thick of things, yes. Can't even say here in good conscience for the fear of the lamentations of others – it's better if some don't know of such things. When it gets too dark, that's how you know you've seen too much, but horses in a well?

In Australia I've seen stories of Cows and Horses pulled out of Dams and such but when I looked up well the first one I found was in India. :)

Alright, but what does this have to do with this thread? Sorry mate. I'm at a loss.

Sorry, I was comparing a video of Ozmodion being saved by riding on the back of an Anaconda to that of a video of a horse being saved from a well. Both were videos I'd like to see..

Great story and thanks for posting - moments like this shine a bright light into the community here and the game as a whole!
